Școlarizare / Boatschooling / WorldSchooling - doar faceți -o! (Navigarea Zatara EP 44)

1. Renee – lifetime high school educator here. I am no expert – I only have experience. And from my experience it seems to me that you have offered your children the richest of learning experiences. You have taken the path that requires more of you as a parent – not less. You and Keith have every right to be proud of the way you've prioritized your family to pursue this adventure. "Fair winds and following seas" – from Chicago. 🙂

  2. I LOVE THIS!!!! Seeing what my nieces and nephews are learning in school and I hate it. I am a physician and it is amazing what adults don't know and amazing what kids don't know about the world around them and even their own bodies. Let me know if you all want a free biology/human anatomy and physiology lesson, I would love to do that for you and your kids.

  3. I know this is a 4 year old video but it has helped me out a lot! We homeschool our kids but are highly considering sailing full time! So I appreciate the time you took to put this together! We love your videos and it’s our 7 year olds dream to meet the Zatara family! We think you’re the coolest!!

  4. I feel like if you’re sailing around the world, what state you’re from doesn’t matter since you’re not physically in that state anymore. You’re not bound to those homeschooling laws. It would be no different if you lived in TX and went to FL for 6mos. While you’re there, you are not bound by TX’s laws when in a different state. The fact that you’re out in the middle of the ocean, means you’re not bound by any of the states laws for homeschooling. That’s not to say you shouldn’t keep records because you should always do that, but as far as testing goes living on a boat, it shouldn’t be required unless you’re still within those boundaries of the state in the water.
Also, if you’re sailing to a new place and pull into port, don’t knock that learning about that new culture isn’t going to be a whole learning experience all in itself! Don’t limit learning and label things as being ‘educational’ to just books and what you find on a laid out lesson plan! It’s all valid learning and your kids are going to get far more out of that in life than they will learning about trigonometry or most algebra!

  5. Renee, I have the utmost respect for you and how you and Keith have raised your children. I have to say, the greatest respect is how you homeschooled all of them!!

There would be a murder/suicide in my house!!

    #respect

  6. I don't about other home school programs, but yours is far superior to any public school. I taught high school for 12 years before getting out, so I have some background for feeling that way. Your children are getting a much more complete education in a fraction of the time they would spend in a traditional classroom.

  7. With everything going on in the public schools right now I’m considering homeschooling my 3 boys. One is 12 and has been in public school his entire life so idk what a transition to homeschooling would be like for him. My other boys are 3 & 4 so I am considering homeschooling them. Did ur children ever go to any kind of school and how do you just not lose your mind with your kids? I wonder if I’m to much of a high strung b***h to school my children. I understand how you did it physically but what I don’t understand is HOW you did it emotionally.

  8. I also don't like the current mathematics curriculum because it has been purposefully dumbed down or manipulated to make math boring or uninteresting. We should return to the mathematics of Socrates, Aristotles, even Issac, they learn better math and they don't have a curriculum.

  9. Homeschooling is the best. I have been home schooled and also went to a regular school. When I was home schooling I personally learned so much more than what school ever taught me and surpassed most of the kids I went to school with. very quickly.

  10. Hi, you guys are right: boat kids are so grown ups, having their more complicated thoughts. Renee, you are doing a great job teaching them. While boatschooling is fun and also requires a you learn a little bit of discipline, it also lets adults to keep their brains working.
I also want to mention, that with this lifestyle you don’t get overfilled with socium, which creates conditions for learning how to see the real value of friends and just of the good people.

  11. I guess if y’all ever read these remarks on old episodes, you will see that I am binge watching here and there…..AND Commenting lol 😂 but… I am watching it now. Everything is in the now 🧐🪐
