I was there, probably earlier as the ice looks a bit wet here. It went on for several days, with cars on the ice as well. Someone had a much bigger yacht which had been in the boatyard unused since prewar days probably. Mast and sails from their summer boats.
The Ice yacht was built out of a trailer chassis (going backwards), with steel runners (hollow ground) welded on and a basic plywood superstructure/seating, all in a few days between Christmas and New Year. The rig is off the National 12 'Tequila'.
Great fun from the days when winters were winters and a contrast of possible outdoor activities excited children and adults alike.
