1. tip 1 and 3 were the same. if you use the wind right, can do it with a single engine boat too. done it with a rib last year

2. As someone who owned and drove cruisers quite a bit in the Netherlands I'd like to make this point: Practice makes perfect, never be ashamed to try and become familiar with your boat. I got to the point where I could reverse into a narrow boathouse without using bow-thrusters, regardless the wind, just by practising for hours. Might have driven my wife insane at the time, but man did she like the control when approaching a tricky mooring!

   As an experienced skipper said – a bad skipper blames his crew.

6. Can a single engine boat be walked sideways? I have a Tahoe Q6 so that is a 20ft bow rider. Any reason I couldn't learn how to do it in mine?

18. Hahahaha. “Use the joystick” “bow thruster” twin props. This video is like saying “how to make a horse back up”. Then getting in your truck and putting it in reverse. Yee haw

    Well assembled vid and I appreciate the effort but anyone who has these tools at their disposal and still can’t get the boat to go sideways should have their license suspended.

    He may be taking it slow in his mind, but to a novice (market audience) inputs were too fast to keep up.

37. All very nice…now add wind, waves, current, other boats coming in and out with angry pilots, fatigue after a big day, non-electronic controls, non power steering, no bow thruster, no joy stick and concrete edges on the dock. Please do that video. If you can nail that you'll be a legend.

38. This is an unusually poor video in the "how to" series. When he's whirling the wheel to and fro in combination with engine controls, we need to see it facing forward, like he is. It is IMPOSSIBLE to interpret his actions and the resulting boat movement when the viewer is facing backward and everything that's happening is reversed!
