The video is very nice I like it. But one big thing is missing . Fuel docks and where to get water. Not everybody has a water maker on their boat. To be comfortable we need to find water every 3 days.
Awesome video… thank you! Very informative. Just one question: you said your draft is about 5-1/2 feet and you have a CB. I assume it's 5-1/2 ft with CB up, is that correct? My draft is 5.1 ft. So, I'm guessing I shouldn't have a problem. I'm thinking about making my first trip to the Bahamas in March. Can't wait! This video is super helpful!
Excellent detail in this route plan, thanks. I hope to buy my first boat in May (2022) in Florida, and one of the pros of learning as you go, is the short daily sails (as opposed to many days offshore). Crossing the gulfstream sounds a bit tricky as a first experience offshore.

Kansas city? Just got my first boat, it’s in a slip at Smithville lake right now just sailed today. Florida to Bahamas is my first goal and the reason I got into trying to sail in the first place
I just came across this and really appreciated the actual routes taken. I've wanted to cross the bank but didn't really know where to enter and if it truly was ok to run right through it from Gun cay. I'm on a trawler with a 3.6 foot draft.

Insurer now wants us to get our feet wet in the Bahamas-Granada for a bit; this is the first video and very helpful to give provisioning/mooring/social/remote anchorages and a potential route from the Keys as we are coming straight south from the Gulf of Mexico.
