Hi love you guys I'm watching ever v I've go t 30 ya proutus I'm 50 years I gone live the dream don't ever stop doing what ya do
🌏💚💚🌎💚💚🌍
Should have used rear exit quality panels and paid a bit more solar technology international ltd semi flexible would have been better
Hey guys! We're working on doing a similar rigid panel install on our stanchions, but I'm having a hard time finding hardware. Where did you get your tubing and the brackets you used to attach to the stanchion? I'd love to know where you found them, and what the manufacturer calls the hardware. Googling "thingy to attach pipe to stanchion" hasn't yielded much for me, lol! Thanks!!! BTW – I love the wood brackets / cord support idea. Do you think it would worth glassing the wood to avoid rot?
god you people are amazing
another great video, and the adventure continues
I do automotive restoration and just wanted to say that Desiree's upholstery work is definitely a great skill set to have on a sail boat & for side work! 🤙
At least you only dropped a screw down the hole. 100% chance I would fumble a few tools overboard.
Solar panels look what they are made of. They deteriorate and go bad after few years especially in n salty environments.
Next time run a retractable measuring tape through the small parts of the boat to pull wire through
LOVE WHAT YOU TWO ARE DOING.
Dang this guy is Mr. Fix-it. If I every wanted to sail, I would buy a newer boat with everything already in place, because I can't fix shit !
22:36 – story of my life! L0L
Hey guys just a question what wattage is you wind turbine and how many ah do you get on a good day with combined with you 400w solas
and what size mppt controller do ou have thanks in advance
I have been catching up on Sailing Project Atticus since I stumbled upon this channel earlier this year. It has been a great watch up until this episode. The popup ads in this episode every few minutes were more than distracting. Keep up the great editing and documentation of your exploits. I am living vicariously through your trials and tribulations.
I'm curious, when you order things on the sea, do you order them to a 'General Delivery' at your next stop? Do you contact that 'post' to inform them that you are expecting a parcel?
you are a whizz jordan !
You guys do good work
Thanks Cap'n. Great info. Cutting the rubber deck plug was brilliant!
I love watching all the improvisation – installing the solar panels, figuring out the charge controller, using Velcro on the sun shade, and getting the curtains in place for the sun shade.
Love this episode
The way Jordan is hobby-ing
Very precise work
I enjoy these technical episodes.
Are the wires from the controllers going to a battery setup? If so, what kind? thanks.
Wow !! I admire you guys. love watching your videos. Super Like. Cheers from Kingdom of Bahrain.
I’m a fan of your channel. Could you tell us why you used wood for the hinges? Thank you
If you made the dodger a bit longer, you could have fitted all the solars onto it…, I'm just guessing.
We used bbq rail mounts off amazon for our pivoting panels, mounted on stainless rails like yours. And then we have telescopic squeegees (like, for window washing lol) so we can angle them as needed. The squeegees just get hung on the railing when we're underway and the panels are down.
Put some caulk on a screw and put back into hole you just made…..I won't tell if you won't….No one will ever know…..
Those brackets make me nervous
Loved that laugh when Jordan dropped the screw… man I’ve done that soooo many times!
Looks great buddy, score 1 for the screw..😉⛵🎣🐟
I love the episodes where you create something to make your everyday life better, so awesome
You are not only handy fellow but a genius!!
I am amazed by all your skills. Awesome job!!
Cheers!
Over a year late, but I'd put a couple bungee cords between the panels. That would make them easy to remove and install. Love your ingenuity. Great video.
Loving all your videos and hoping to get more into sailing soon after years of motorcycle traveling! It's better not to strip back the wire more than an 1/8 to 1/4 inch when crimping on the pin for an MC4 connector. I'm a solar electrician and see damage/failures related to too much of the wire poking into those connectors. Mad respect for all your hard work!!
Lmao at dropping that bolt set. So reminds me when i drop stuff like that in my workshop. fully knowing that's gonna be another waste of 20 minutes looking for where it fell!!!!
DIY is an understatement. I feel like I'm watching "This Old Boat". Great job, Jordan.
Well done! Thanks for living our dreams.
If this sailing thing ever stops working out for you, you would make great teachers. You guys are awesome!
35’ ketch with 200 w. Solar and a wind gen…I’m adding two 100 w. Flexible panels to my Dodger/Bimini. Good luck with the new boat. SV Shayndel.
Awesome channel! So nice to watch two humble, knowledgable motivated young sailors. Thanks for sharing, you two!
Did Desiree make the big sunshade too?
Seems so much work…..but obviously pays dividends….stay safe….
