As a former computer person you need to: Do not turn the computer on for any reason until you can get the computer to someone who has the knowledge to retrieve your data. Get an external hard drive and hook it up through the usb. It will create another drive on the computer. Take your hard drive out of the computer and freeze it for a couple of hours. Put it back in the computer and try to start it up again. If it comes up go straight to the folder with all of your youtube videos and copy them to the external drive immediately. Once you have recovered the files if you can then work to get the other files you want to keep using the same method. Do not turn off the computer until you have recovered them or your computer craps out. You may not get but one chance. Assume your hard drive will fail every three years and replace it before it fails again. In fact, buy two now because they may not be available when you need the next one. Hope this is your current video so you will get this message in a timely manner. Put the hard drive in a freezer bag if you have one or wrap a couple of time in clear wrap for freezer use.
Don't replace the motherboard until you have determined it is not the hard drive. I can't imagine the motherboard going to crap. It is usually the hard drive that goes first. Only reason the motherboard would be crap is if you are not grounded on your boat. You should have a really good surge suppressor between the computer and your electrical hook up at all time. It is the best $60 U.S. you will ever spend. There is a lot of info on the internet to assist in data recovery. Anytime someone tells you to replace Motherboard make it sure it is from an electrical surge. Always suspect hard drive first. Replace hard drive before MB or memory almost every time. Sometimes memory is bad but not often. P.S. There are data recovery companies that can recover data but they charge an arm and a leg. You might also try putting it in another computer to try and bring it up or take the drive out and slap it against your hand. Put it back in again and try it again. If that doesn't work you might try taking it out of the computer and slapping the hard drive against a hard surface gently. I am not too optimistic about recovery but those are some techniques you can try. Definitely consider the external drive or even a writable cd rom but that is older tech. Many thing have changed since I did this so there might even be newer tech. Definitely get some thumb drives with high data capacity as a third way to back up for a quick backup. Those are the best ideas I can give you.
You make me sick talking about your motor. I do some woodworking and I built this awesome workbench that I keep in my backyard. I know how you are in love with this motor. It took me about two weeks to build my bench and although I don't use it a lot I go out and check on it just to make sure it is still there. It was truly a masterpiece for my first big project so I get where you are coming from.
I was watching another sailing video and they showed me this tool to help wash your clothes in the 5 gal bucket. It was a plunger with the round suction cup bottom but it had little 1 1/2 inch circles. 5 I am guessing but they might be smaller and you just push it up and down with a twist each time. I would just buy the basic plunger and cut holes in it. Works the same I am guessing. Like churning butter in the old days.
Just remember, if you only have 1 copy of your data you really have no data at all.

Also, if you watch one of Delos's old video's, their rubber impeller on the water pump was always wearing out to the point they had to carry a spare or two. With your new engine you probably won't see that, but the design is such that a lot of load goes to those rubber impeller blades and makes them wear out quickly, so you might want to keep a close eye on it.
