Pip, you described all the aspects of solo ocean racing very well, i know you know that you can not finish first with a slower boat given your competitors are also all pros, armel finished 3hr behind gabart after 78days at sea, i mean those guys are relentless plus they have sponsors and get a new designed boat, but that is not your concern, finishing would be a major achievement. i will follow you. good luck.

There are several Brits in the Vendee, it is about time we see some footage on TV not just 30sec report on the news. We have Alex Thompson, Pip Hare, Sam Davies and Miranda Merton in the fleet. This is an epic race and so tough to just get to the start line.

Pip is now a couple of days out from finishing and will probably be either just inside or just outside Ellen MacArthur’s time.Either way she has had a phenomenal race, overcome som3 major problems and I really hope she gets a big sponsor and a proper chance to race in 2024.
