Sailing " wing on wing" helps with the rolling but why sail ddw? If you sail at slight angles to the wind it will be much more comfortable and a lot faster.
Applesauce just thinks he's the boss… we saw who was driving!!!!
Even with a Spinnaker or Code Zero in those conditions, the boat will surge and roll as it is just to a lesser degree.
She right. Put your pole out and take down the main.
Ore cow bell if you want this to work
Yeah but they live on Plankton that's what all that stuff hanging on the side of the head was from its what they strane the Plankton through
Woke up early feeling a little depressed and watching you guys cheered me up. You guys are so funny. I wonder what you are on. LOL! Thanks for the videos.
Kristen is so beautiful, she must have Asian or something in her. Absolute bomb shell!!!!
Have you tried "winging" it? You put the main on one side and the genny on the opposite side. Kind of looks like gull wings. You have to be truly running dead downwind to do it. You also have to be totally focused or you may end up doing a snap gybe. Having the main boom violently swing from one side to the other can do a lot of damage.
Another great video! Thank you
LOL! You guys seeing a whale is like others seeing the Loch Ness monster. Same excitement. Same grainy footage. Same awesomeness. P.S. Happy B-Day , Matt! Blower-Holes and all.
Head a little off the wind..so your on a very broad reach.. better progress and no rolling
You guys are my favorite channel <3
Maybe a humpback whale?
Kristen do you have a sister? I seen a girl on a site looked just like you only had tattoo around stomach/side..
Best sailing channel real life people livin the dream. Stay safe enjoy
Am I the only one that caught the typo in Kristen's Instagram name at the beginning??? Pssst, you forgot the S…. What the heck am I talking about.. Im the last person that should be picking out grammatical errors.
Cute. Fun vid too.
"The headpiece and by-products" yep my favourite parts of a whale
bon-yos
Found your channel only recently and started at the beginning so I wouldn't miss anything. Kristin is right, you definitely need to rock the pole. The whisker pole that is. and Goerges DuPuis is correct. Don't go dead down wind. Put your main out as far as you can on the downwind side to prevent an accidental jibe and pole out your genoa on the upwind side and you can fly wing on wing. The bath tubing "rolling back and forth" is generated by the swell being slightly off your centerline.
goosewing
Why no chicken?
In strong winds use a sea anchor
I like you guys
Kristen's right – spinnaker . Great video
I really liked this video because it showed you guys sailing as opposed to doing pretty much projects.

God bless and keep it rolling guys!
I had a wind steering gear similar to yours and had difficulty at first but then realized the better I understood my sail plan and how to balance it to point of sail, the wind gear began to hold course well and I stopped using my electronic steering which was drawing a lot of power with all the adjustments it had to make. Downwind is probably hardest at first but one sails are set better they literally pull the boat a couple of degrees either side of course. One of my most satisfying sails was running before the wind from Barbados to Grenada with hurricane on the way the swells were huge and boat were surfing down them with needle of knot meter buried was stuck above 10 most of the time
Kristen's tail is much much better than the whale's…..just sayin'.
2:40…
MATT…YOU SAW A WHALE "TURD" ???
5:04…
YOU PULL OUT YOUR GENOA ???
WHAT ???
AND WHAT…PLAY…
HIDE THE SALAMI ???
Wing on wing head sail one way main sail to the other or fly a spinnaker real lite wind use a whisker pole on your jib and fly your main to the other side of your pole the folling sea will allow you to surf down the wave
Not a sailor but Kristen have you ever donked Matt in water when he's getting on board great video sorry Matt
Great video you two!
balleen?
I don't think a whale would swallow Kristen whole. I think a whale would lick her like a lolly-pop.
There she blows!
I saw many whales crossing Hecate Strait.
Beautiful layed back area. Thanks for sharing.
