  1. Oh dear, I wish I had found you much earlier.. would have shares about tying the tiller/helm and setting the sails… you're probably old hats at it by now… In the old days you had to check the compass periodically and estimate time and speed at that heading and then get out the sexton and do the do to find out where you actually are. .. sailed the Great Lakes at night with no lights, compass or navigation at all. slept several hours and just by dead reckoning and Creator found my way back to port… Now a days you can use a phone if you're close enough to shore or get a navigator with charts… do you have to load the charts still or just update on the internet? Its been awhile… had one but never got a chance to use it… 15 years ago …wow time flyes… Blessings

OK, gotta tell you this…. Please Please roll your sails when on the deck… basically you use the bottom luff as a pocket and roll or fold and roll the rest of the sail into that smooth pocket then half hitch around with loop like sewing machine slip knots all the way down, then roll up into a tight ball towards the forestay and wrap with half hitch slip again with halyards and secure to the stay or put into bag and tie tights with sheets.
Secure that anchor!!!!!!! I've seen boats with holes in them and the waves come in and sink the boat… any time you raise the sails the anchor should be stowed!!! Grrr…
Ok I need a nap before the sun comes up again.. blessings

  2. Glidden essence.. the paint I recommend.. Home Depot has it, gloss is best … for places with mold problems I've been known to spray a fine mist of Clorox with lemon first let dry.. exterior, and it worked great..Sorry took me till now to find the can ans share.

  3. I usually joke and say "you can steer the boat with the rudder, you can steer the boat with the sails, and you can steer the boat with your weight but for every thing else, you need an anchor."

  4. Guys I Like tour vídeos quite much and wish you all the best for your adventures please keep also given us some sail technique details please manny greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹

  5. Of all the sailing video blogs, yours is one most can relate and empathize. Yo are gaining so much experience and sharing it at the same time. Buying a million dollar Catamaran is only a dream for most of us. Plus you two are true free spirits. I'm sure you never have arguments or frustrated with one another 😉

  6. I like how you two are down to earth sailors and working off of a budget to follow your dreams . I am still tring to figure out how to realize my dreams of sailing.

  7. hook prob spinnig guys, looks a bit BIG, was a crab fisher in the North sea, off the coast of Ireland not saying i know fishing but try putting 5 hooks on your line and different baits and reeling in every coulpe hours i bet u catch a fish, enjoy

  8. No wonder you can’t catch any fish, that lure is ugly. Get a big flash shiny one that castes some flashes of light so the fish have something to get interested in.

  9. MATT…
IF YOU CAN GET A DEEP SEA ROD AND REEL , AND CREATE A ROD AND REEL POLE HOLDER…YOU CAN TROLL OFF THE BACK OF THE BOAT WITH AN ARTIFICIAL PINK SKIRTED BALLYHOO…FROM PERSONAL DEEP SEA FISHING EXPERIENCE , IT IS WHAT ATTRACTS THE MOST ACTION…HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL LURE PRESENTATION !!!
DON'T FORGET TO SET THE DRAG…WATCH AND LISTEN TO THAT REEL SING !!!
WAHOO , YELLOW FIN , MAHI MAHI , KING FISH ,
    EVEN BILL FISH…
    THE AME.RICAN SPORTSMAN !!!
    🍎😊

  10. My fiancé says to paint the wood lure bright colors with nail polish or something and then clear coat it so it's shiny. You guys are the best!

  11. You can buy frozen, foot long tubes of cut up shrimp and fish parts that will fit inside a 5-6" diameter tubular cage that hangs from a fishing boat. It's called chum; the cage is called a chum box. Chum is cheap and far superior to a sloppily punctured tuna can.

  12. I enjoy watching your videos. Makes me want to do something like that when I get my SSI back pay. Stay safe and keep the videos coming yal are a cool couple. My name is Mark and I'm in China Grove nc.

  13. I love how genuinely excited you guys seem, especially Kristen, when you are getting ready to sail. All the time knowing how grueling will be.

  14. I won't forget to comment. I'm so looking forward to seeing the sea foam flow off the bow of my boat. Thanks for the inspiration.

  15. glad you made it. Your mate from UK explained the theory about boat trim probably better than I did in my previous posts. That knowledge is gold for the rest of your sailing days. Peace and smooth sailing. Sails up keel down.
