  1. We are so sorry for your loss. Patrick was and still is an inspiration to us (my wife and I). Because of your channel and others we are planning to enter the cruiser life. We just have two more kiddos to get through high school.

  2. Wow…a man so talented…lived life to its fullest and on his terms it appears…I didnt know this man….I just watched a couple videos this morning….hard to believe a man so active and fit could be taken so quickly….So sorry for your loss Rebecca….so glad you had so many wonderful times with your beloved Patrick….sometimes I feel quilty for not trying to live a more exciting, adventurous life…time here is really so brief…bless you Rebecca….in memory of Patrick….RIP….and a nice breeze in your sails…!! What a cool guy ! Rebecca you just look like the type of woman who is a "doer" someone who does fun and challenging things…like an Amelia or an Olympic swimmer….or an Everest alum or a PCT thru hiker….or someone who would sail around the world to honor her loved one…if you do, be safe and think of Patrick as you silently sit on the bow alone and gaze at a beautiful sunset remembering all the fun times Patrick gave you….he will surely be there with you….!! I bet he treasured watching the Dolphins breach at the bow….or a whale calf staying next to its mothers side !!

  3. I only just found this channel today, and I am so sorry to hear that a voice that I've now listened to for several hours won't be there to listen to in the future. Thank you for keeping the spirit of sailing going going here.

  4. I've only come across your channel but my condolences for your loss. I've watched 5 off your videos so far and his knowledge and spirit is infectious on me as I am currently working towards getting my own yacht.

  6. My heartfelt late condolences as I have only come to know Patrick through your videos, but the words of this episode say so much to me and the world is a better place because of people like Pactrick. Safe travels 🙂

  7. So many beautiful tributes to your amazing husband. Some very special people add grace to everything they experience and he seemed like one of those rare people.

  8. My deepest condolences Rebecca! I found your youtube channel today 5/07/21 after googling DYI boat hull cleaning. Patrick spent 2 hours under the hull and talked about snorkeling down to clear stuck anchors.
You were and are blessed knowing the man Patrick, husband, brother, friend, sailor, navigator, mechanic, engineer, humble silent helper:) Praying for you sis….stay the course…..The Shout and excitement of "Land Ho" awaits our souls:) 2 Corith 1:3-4

  9. Humm just watch last night his tremoundous work he did on his boat for blister issues, and told my girlfriend look how he was strong and resilient ! This morning continue watching his videosonly to figure out he died from fuckin covid ! 🤦‍♂️🤬🤬🤬😕😭😭 life is a bitch ! … at least he made it his way… freeman all to to the bones ! … he had a good life!

  10. Please accept all my sympathy, your husband seemed to to have been a wonderful person. He will throughout your videos be an example to me even without ever met him, he inspires me a lot. All the best to you, keep sharing your voyages, big hug to you, Jacques

  11. I was looking up Lithium batteries as we, at 70, are thinking of coming back to sailing. We had a Kelly Peterson in the Caribbean for 5 years and a Westsail 32 for 34 years here in BC, our home. Just finished chatting with Stan and Sylvia Dabney, ex Valiant, he will be our broker again, he remembers you well. He told me you were in Granada. Don't go near Granada Marine, one of the worst marinas we dealt with. Looks like Patrick's memory lives on. Bless you. This is quite the Celebration of Life you set up for him and all his family and friends.

  12. The two of you were a perfect couple, in my opinion, I did enjoy this video and I'm glad you did it. You have remarkable friends and I do hope you can count on them to make your life as normal as it can be now. Thank You for sharing his life with us, I was right in my first post, he was a very remarkable man and again I could easily see he loved you greatly. Your life hasn't been so shabby either so please continue to record it even if it is for nothing else but to record your amazing life as it continues. Never stop living your life as best you can.

  13. At the start I took a interest in your story. Look your not going to like this. Love stop doing what your doing. You dragging that man around beating yourself up. Beating that poor gentleman that took so much care for you. He's my hero he there now for you. Me I would have been of that boat the first day I saw you dragging pat around after you. please stop. So sad. I lost so much.. But I have put it away and move on. You have to now. Live weee woman live Patrick would want that. Lots love John xxxx

  14. I'm new to this channel. This is my 4th video. I came from another sailor channel…I didn't even know Patrick – and I'm brawling 😭😭😭

Patrick touched many! Rest well dear soul.

  15. I have just discovered your excellent videos but am just now learning about Patrick's death. I extend my heartfelt sympathy for you loss. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

  16. Rebecca, I’m so very sorry for your loss. I only just found your channel recently and have watched your episodes from the beginning and now I’m here. I can’t imagine what the last year or more has been for you but I wish you all the best going forward. You inspire so many of us to hopefully follow our dreams and not settle for anything less. Thank you!

  17. Just bumped into your video about fixing the hull blisters, the COVID one and now this.
You're right; Patrick spent time making you happy and in turn, that made him happy – that's quite clear. I did some ocean racing back in the day and I would liked to have known Patrick and yourself.

I'll bet Patrick is still smiling, so more strength to your arm, Rebecca.
Greetings from Australia – Beautiful one day, perfect the next.

  18. I met Brickhouse in Marshal islands years ago. Never had a chance to interface very much. BUT I have always enjoyed his video inputs on everything about boat care. He will be missed greatly..

  19. I had casually watched a lot of Patrick’s diy videos and fixes before seeing anything about him passing. I was really sad to hear it was a blow I was shocked. You had a good one long live Patrick thru theses videos

  20. it only took a few minutes for a tear to form. but it went from grief for you and those that were touched by your lives together to a touch of pride even hearing about him. there are so few spots that seem to shine that bright for us people. I am incredibly happy for the time you had.
