This is stupid. Two completely things, space exploration and deep sea exploration. Why not make the argument, "Why explore outer space when we haven't even unearthed all of the mysteries under Giza?"
It's not like humanity can only do one thing at a time. We are exploring the oceans as needed, as we can, at the same time archeologists are unearthing ruins, at the same time astronauts are exploring space. Grow up. There's more than just one rich person in the world doing things.
