  1. Hej Johan and Malin.
If you need small or strange size rubber gaskets or washers again try https://www.dione.se. They are in Uppsala I have found them really helpful and not overpriced.
Your local lantmännen verkstad will also probably have any and everything to do with spares for hydraulics.
I have not watched your västkusten films yet as I hope to sail there next year and don't want any spoilers. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
    Paul

  2. Happy Birthday, Malin! Roses, wine, and another winning sunset with Vera spreading kisses. 🙂

If I'm not mistaken, now that we're into late November, Happy Birthday to Vera, too! Her first turn around the Sun!

Always boat projects on the "to do" list, especially regarding the rigging and need to have reliably safe gear. These are great instructional hands-on videos!

Engineering tip: I know you're committed to the new push pit arch, but I was wondering if pipe bending was considered in the arch design before asserting its cantilever structure? Such would yield a more fluid arch form overall without compromising structure, as if RAN's new stainless steel "hairdo" blew in a gentle wind.

    Blessings and Warm Wishes,

    S/V "Windwalker"

  3. Once again little Vera steals the show! LOL thats quite a project you have taken on replacing the rigging, furlers and mast. I love the arch. Will you have Davit arms to store the dingy? Also wondering how larger panels are going to fit on the top of the arch. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Stay safe guys.

  4. Very Good, I do believe you will both be happy with your designs and decisions
On these projects when it’s all said n done, and feel much safer too when out on the high seas again ✅

  5. Johan, have you considered installing a furling boom? They work extremely well and are safer as you can reef without leaving the cockpit. In addition, if for some reason the boom system has a problem, you can still lower and/or use the main.

  6. I've just finished watching you adventure from start to last video and what a journey. It took you 4 years but I done it in 8 months. Looking forward to your future videos and especially watching the youngest member of your crew growing up. You should get Vera swimming as soon as possible so she's a little bit safer in the water, but still keep your eyes on her, young children get up to all things. Keep safe 🤓

  7. Hi. Fabulous video as ever… curious though about having to go back to basics with the mast and rigging – surely Najad and Seldén can reproduce what they fitted to the boat on build, and update as appropriate, without all the measuring and checking?

  8. Ran sailing definitely the best sailing / travel blogging site on the web always interesting and loads of sailing knowledge . Plus the crew seem like such nice people . Thanks for sharing your interesting lifestyle with us .

  9. i have a really stupid but effective way to keep your plastic blocks, winches and clutches safe from mr. sun while in port. go get some plastic pots (for plants) cut them up and slip them over the parts. it looks ridiculous but if it works here in hawaii it will certainly work up north.

  10. As they say in the USA Johan, "You da Man!" These upgrades are awesome and will keep your family safe and secure. Malin and Vera you should be proud of you husband and daddy being such a handy guy. Love your videos. Can't wait to see the finished improvements.

  11. Quick question. Does that drawing programme also work out the strength of the structure (i.e. what forces it can handle from each direction with the materials used) and the weight? Thanks.

  12. I am surprised that if the measurements of the mast was so important….. Then why measure with a folding stock instead of a tape measure? Folding stocks are can not be calibrated and can have a large deviation.

  13. You may consider a 12Vdc charger also to avoid the step up and subsequent step down of voltage plus dc->ac and ac->dc.
The reason of high amp consumptions by chargers is the step down voltage from 220vac or 110vac to 24-5vdc.

  14. Great to see how our Scandinavian friends are living with Covid-19…… over than 65 years old or with a health condition? Wear a mask and/or stay out of the way until the vaccines are available

…… for the rest of us, we are just getting on with life and keeping the economy going!

  15. Happy Birthday Malin, We have been with you since the start, and have enjoyed every moment. Looking forward to your new upgrades, and following along on Your future adventures. Safe travels.

  16. You know there is places to resource seals and gaskets other than with the manufactors, right? Where you can get them for a buck or two instead of 100 bucks, just by measuring them?

  17. How many people pause these videos to Google random stuff they see? For instance, I just learned that the red and yellow boat in the very beginning is a volunteer sea rescue society vessel, probably of the PostcodeLottery Class 11 Meter.

I keep a Google Maps window open so I can follow along with the travels, so I especially appreciate it when the signs on stores are displayed so I can map them.
