12. Revisiting this. I just watched a vid today on Seen through Glass where he visits the largest fuel station in Britain off the M25 with 36 pumps. That petrol station’s entire tank capacity is a million litres. So this vessel has the same fuel capacity as the biggest petrol station in Britain. Crazy when you put it into perspective like that

14. Hey eSysman, I just wanted to point out a possible error in your Dilbar specs. It says a max speed of 22 knots (35.8mph). As a general rule, I multiply knots by 1.15 to get an estimate for mph speed (American – mph is more relatable) and 22 knots is only about 25.3mph. Thought I would let you know.

28. On the other hand, you're talking about the equivalent of shifting a cul de sac of houses about 7000 nautical miles. That would be quite expensive too. Annoyingly the couple of sites I found its specifications on, leave the range (presumably on one tankful) totally blank.

33. Small point. Maybe maths is not your strong suit, 220,000 gallons, if american gallons (4 ltr per) that is 880,000 litres. If imperial (4.5 ltrs per gallon) that is 990,000 litres. Plus you say in your verbal report on screen, the quantity is, One million and forty nine thousand litres, whilst at the same time showing on screen, one million and 49 lires. A big difference! (48,951 litres adrift in fact) So which is it ?? Then of course you make the calculation this is a car in value. Great fun, but what figure are you using ??

37. That's not a lot of bunkers for a ship – I served on a a number of English passenger vessels and we'd bunker 6,800 tonnes of hfo at each off a number of bunker ports on our 75day circum navigation of the Globe – 149 tonnes is not a lot – although most likely DO rather than hfo

Do yachts use fuel for energy needs, like operating the lights, stoves, heat, air conditioning, pool cleaners? Are fuel prices for yachts generally the same everywhere or do they fluctuate? Do owners have ways to use yacht costs as a tax deduction?

46. having a hard time wrapping my brain around 220,000 gallons of fuel inside a yacht. so a tanker truck might carry 5-12,000 gallons….? which means like 20 tanker trucks inside of that boat…? the engineering of that NOT being a disaster is amazing.

47. What is the best miles per gallon you've seen in these larger yachts?
    I expect something like 4mpg on displacement yachts under 20 tonnes, but superyachts have longer waterline by displacement as well.
