2. I noticed your condensation problem on the metal frames of your deck hatches. When we lived aboard our Nicholson 48 Heerenleed full-time, we have solved this problem with a simple home-made trick. Make a wooden box, about 15 cms high, that leaves at least 10 cms space around the hatch, and give it no bottom but a perspex top. Put rubber door stoppers on the bottom corners. This way, you leave enough room for ventilation but keep the worst cold off your hatch, that you can still open a little bit. It also keeps rain out if you need to keep your hatch open. And you don't block daylight coming in. They are a bit awkward to store, but if you need more than one, make them from smaller to larger to enable them to nest.    Tip for other boaters ..
   400 x2 in parallel is awesome.
   Why parallel is smart .. they work independently. So of one a shaded the other will work.
   But your mppt must be able to handle the amps .. ( less voltage is more amp)
   But with 400 watt your start voltage on the mppt will be ok.

   On normal installation most panels go in serie .. to one mppt or if shade is an issue install multiple mppt’s or optimisers.
   That can be costly and not always needed .

13. One way to keep your lines from freezing is to hang them over the side in the water. I hope you have rubber gloves when you pull them in.

14. I love kid leashes! I bought my grand children animal back pack leashes. could stuff a snack to go and when they wanted to roam could keep them close by. I had a daughter kidnapped in a store a parents worst nightmare. we got her back before the lady got out of the store because they locked the doors the minute i reported her missing. My grands loved there leashes. they liked stuffing their snacks in and putting it on they would get them anytime we told them we were leaving. it was fun to see them enjoy them. Some people looked at us like we were cruel, but knowing they were beside us was better then having to worry they get out of sight and something bad happen. It's also nice when they want to walk around they can be put down especially around the water. thanks for sharing this. it's good to see commonsense still alive 🙂 she's to adorable and her little smile so beautiful keep her safe 🙂

18. Get some frames with plastic to put in front of the windows. It blocks the warm and moist air from the cold surfaces, and stops the condensation if the air gets dry enough.
    If you pipe in cold and dry air in between, it gets warmer and dryer.
    Do the same thing in the lockers.

19. You need a condensing heat exchanger to went out more humid air and let in more dry, heated air.

22. I'm installing this radar mount today. It is super high quality and goes together really well. Except for one thing. The 2 bolts that hold the top tube to the head unit don't passthrough the bolt holes on the tube easily. I could drill the holes a bit or probably even hammer the bolts through but as well as this kit goes together I am having a hard time doing either of those things. Did yours just passthrough?

24. Hi sailing frieds, perhaps I have a suitable hint for managing the issue of moisture on the boat. We are using venting devices with heat exchangers in our house for drying the air and have fresh air in all rooms. This works well for more than 10 years. The loss of heat is extremely low and it is driven by two small fans. We blow the fresh air in living or sleeping rooms and collect the wet and used air from the kitchen and bathroom to blow out. I could imagine that this device can very good applied for the sail yacht requirements. Have a look at Bayernluft!

30. If you did NOT cook with gas, your problem would be much less. I think this is right – for every kilo of gas you burn, you create 1.2 litres of moisture! Much better to cook with batteries or electricity of another type. Have a look what Mads on "Sail Life" is doing.
