  1. Hi, enjoying the videos, easy to watch and great footage, whilst you were sailing I noticed your reefing sheets are not set properly, if you notice the fittings on the side of boom, each sheet goes through the cringle the down to the fittings on side of boom, so when you reef it pulls the sail down onto the boom, at the moment its pulling the sail to the rear of boom.
    Hope this helps.
    Looking forward to your progress.

  2. Well done lads, Thanks for the Bonus Episode on a Thursday… That was full on sailing for that 11 hour passage… you are showing what the Rivals are built to do…. You have a good following now, consider opening a Patreon page where us armchair sailors could sponsor a Coffee or a Pint 🙂

  3. Great video guys nice long sail and plenty of humour together, good when brothers get along well together, have you caught any fish yet? my first year of trying to sea fish was none eventful due to someone who said don't forget to oil your hooks so they don't rust, ya did that until never got a bit and another guy said don't use oil as fish have a great sense of smell and won't go near oily hooks, the joke was on me, then I caught plenty, hey loved the strong coffee no weak tea with a visible crack in the bottom of the cup, ( like is that weak tea, or is there a crack in the bottom of the cup ) great episode I look forward to next adventure.

  4. That man loves his peanuts and pot noodles (not poodles!)! That wind over tide chop would be terrifying in my little 22’ Jaguar!
What about a wooden dowel through the middle of the fishing line spool?
Have you got a tour of your boat uploaded anywhere with some stats about size and the nav gear you’re using? Get this going guys, your getting quite a following and your humour is infectious…

  5. New subscriber, and loving the videos guys! Thanks so much for posting, and doing the things I wish I could be 🙂
Have you got any tips for seasickness? You both seem to handle those conditions very well!

  6. Really thrilled to discover your channel at the start of your journey. Great video editing 😉 Really love the sailing info you give, when I do this journey one day it well help greatly! Cheers guys!

  7. Hiya Lads (and Neppy), wow!! another great video on my new favourite sailing channel. Even I, as an arm chair sailor, can see that was a quick passage across Cardigan bay. I bet you were buzzing after that but glad to reach tidy anchorage at the end of a long day. Keep on keepin it real.

  8. i was really enjoying your videos, right up until "Smooth Peanut butter" Wrong just Wrong 😂 , great journey, have fun stay safe

  9. Good one. Barsdsey brings back memories – lost a mast there years ago in a very stinky sea with wind against tide. Good videos and fun to watch.

  10. If only there was a double thumbs up button! Really like the way you explain your passage plan and progress on that plan, it really feels like we are going with you 👍👍

  11. You made good time, nice day for it, and after that last patch of bad weather looks like your in for some warm weather this week, enjoy 👍

  12. The Rival 34 will officially become a classic next year, as if I'm not mistaken the first one was made in 1972. Well done guys for showing the boat at it's best. They will be even more sought after following your circumnavigation….. no pressure! Having just watched your vittling video you might get sponsored as the Carling Cruisers! I look forward to seeing you boys drink Whisky when you get to Scotland.. instead of that horrible dishwater!! HWYL!

  13. Another wonderful video gentlemen! Based on your eating habits I use the term gentlemen loosely:)

  14. great vlog chaps. we really enjoyed the longer views of the ocean and your passage, watching here at breakfast in Breezy Point, NY. Your boat holds its heel well and cuts through the waves – you had a good angle on them! Was that a fish I saw in the sink? Or was it an image on a plate? I suppose if it was a real fish you would have bragged about it! ha ha

  15. As an expat who learned to sail around Britain (Thames estuary and channel mainly) 40 years ago, I'm loving these videos. If forgotten how difficult British waters are with staying Tides, currents, ever changing weather. So thanks lads! She looks a proper pocket cruiser although I'll bet that skeg rudder is not easy to handle reversing info slips.b one thing that struck me is she seems a large boat to steer with a rudder. I'm guessing that's a compromise for the small (but we'll protected) cockpit right? I bet you could circumnavigated in her.

  16. Hi there, watching your videos from the very beginning and thoroughly enjoying them. Did you start off dinghy sailing or did you go straight into cruisers? The only reason I ask is because I sailed a Gul dinghy as a child and have purchased and sailed this season a Leisure 17 and thoroughly enjoying it. Need to take my RYA exams so I can venture further a field. Safe sailing 🙂

  17. Great video as always boys. I’ve caught up with you heading for Jamaica, so I’m watching these early ones of our coastal waters.
One word of warning(although posthumously and you’re both well)please be careful with fishing lures, more than one sailor has had to cut short their adventure due to an agonising eye injury due to one. Came very close myself once as it whizzed past my head. If it had hit my eye I’m pretty sure I’d have lost the sight in it and we all know how precious that is.🫤
