  1. In real life it’s a stop you in your tracks gorgeous watch. It is a sleeper cause honestly most can’t pull it off… but everyone can pull off another black sub and get that atta boy comment from people.

  2. I was never a fan of Rolexes except of the Datejust, but this Yachtmaster completely threw me off my chair, the design, the aesthetic of it! Forget about platinum I'd have given the same for even a stainless steel version of it!

  3. i’d nvr pay more for a sub when so many people have them and it’s so much more pricey compared to the yatchmaster when the latter has a platinum bezel and the polished centre links. it’s just levels higher than the sub

  4. People need to see this watch in person. Recently I got the rhodium 40. and I have to say it’s is by far the best Rolex I ever owned. It feels more like a Patek / AP level watch. Case is a lot slimmer and the quality is just much more refine than my 41 Sub. It truly wears like a dream.

  5. Thanks for the vid.
Just a bit confused, for the majority of the vid.
    Are you wearing a 40mm YM or a 37mm?
My Mrs has a 15.5cm wrist, she prefers the 40mm look. We haven’t tried either on though. Thanks 🙂

  6. In the UK you can do a license for steering sailingyachts .
These licenses are issued by RYA royal yachting association, and are called
    Yachtmaster coastal
    Yachtmaster offshore
    Yachtmaster ocean.
When you apply for a job on a yacht or racing boat, in the job description yachtmaster is usually demanded.
So if you were able to race a big sailing yacht and you are chilling in a bar after a yachtmaster is appropriate.
This is the real story behind these watches.

  7. Great review as always. I think this looks nicer and more classier than the Submariner. I think this looks like it should be more of an expensive watch. What do you think?

  8. I’m 6’, perfect posture, 12.5us shoe, 200lbs solid muscle and my wrists are the same as yours😂

40mm platinum bezel is awesome for my skiny wrists.

The 48hour power reserve is weak! I love the sandblasted platinum dial.

It’s 100% a sleeper. The Submariner is hyped and overpriced to death.
The vast majority of Subs never c five minutes of salt water or any water other than hand washing splashes. 😂😂

  9. Just bought matching 29mm and 35mm. One of the few in their line that you can get the identical watch in two sizes. They are the two tone 18k and 904l with Mother of Pearl dial. Will see how they feel soon

  10. I have the 18k gold with blue dial (mid size) and it’s just incredible. My favourite watch and I will never let it go. When I got my explorer 2 I was damn close to getting the OG platinum bezel/dial with the red seconds hand. In the end I passed because I wanted a gmt and I thought I’d always look at the platinum ym and not see it in the same light as the goldy

  11. Thank you for the honest review, Jenni. I own a 126622 Rhodium and find it to be both elegant and sporty,…dress it up or down. It seems to be gaining a bit of traction recently but, as you noted, it's "lost" in the catalog and receives little press. I have many wonderful timepieces and have also bought and sold many. I highly recommend this watch. Unlike my no date 14060 Sub, the 126622 is like shimmering jewelry and looks outstanding when up close and personal. CHEERS & ENJOY!

  12. Just bought this YM 40 Rhodium, it’s been my “grail” watch for
Years. It being under the radar, not as common, or a sleeper is Exactly one of the reasons I wanted it. Not only did just the look of it grab my attention but the more I learned about it in the market the more I liked it. Everyone has a Submariner, and imho the watch doesn’t really Look worth its value on the wrist. Someone who does not know watches could briefly look at a Sub and think nothing of it. The GMTs are “Nicer” looking and do provide that aesthetic look / value to me BUT I am not a fan of the two tone bezels. For me personally I feel like they limit the watches versatility when it comes to wearing it outfit and event wise.

The YM rhodium dial on the other hand I felt provided the perfect balance. It can match anything and it can be dressed up w a suit or down in a less formal outfit. It definitely looks like a beautiful watch worth its value in dollars with the sunburst dial, and PCLs on the bracelet. The touch of blue is just super unique and a perfect match. The lugs are also polished. So the watch does have some bling effect but after wearing it for a day out I have to say it’s Not bad or overwhelming at all. It’s not a gaudy watch by any mean, but it’s polished and has some sparkle to it. And for me honestly if I’m wearing a 13k-17k watch (grey market depending on the year and b + p) I want it to have some shine to it.

Now with all of that shine is there concern to be careful with it? Not scratch the PCLs and platinum bezel? 100% there is lol. But whether I had a sub or This YM I am not the type to wear a watch that cost me over 10 bands while I’m doing DIY videos in my house or while doing any other activity that could cause me to damage it (maybe drinking w friends). I’ll wear a piece of jewelry like this when appropriate.

If your the type who doesn’t care and will wear your watch 24/7 and out in the yard etc. I’d say get a G-Shock lol. But if your that loaded and unconcerned with the cost then a non polished sub would def be the way to go since it won’t show scratches as easily.

Overall I love my new Watch. I love that it is a “sleeper” and I’m hoping the exclusivity of it or lack of it in the market and on people’s wrists will entice others to also want to branch out and get it. Right now the market on these is great imho. If you search you can find good deals from good dealers on the grey market.

  13. Like all mechanical wristwatches nowadays, the Yachtmaster is a fashion accessory, like a tie or a pair of earrings. At the beginning of most people’s collecting journey, they get caught up with the specs and history of the watches, but after you reach maybe 50-100 watches, it’ll dawn on you that none of that matters, and what really counts is how the watch looks and how comfortable it is. For my part, the Yachtmaster is more comfortable than any of the Rolex dive watches and the dial and blue highlights on the rhodium model are also better looking than the dive watches. It’s a gorgeous watch.
