So many details. Like when he mentions he naplmed the guy and the boss didnt know what that was..and Rays like 'Ahh ok'. He knew then the guy wasn't legit

  2. It's a good contrast to the scene in the final episode when they Freddie and Ray goes out for lunch. Ray insists that Freddie should try out the dimmies even though Freddie is reluctant to try new things (probably after the caviar incident) yet Freddie ends up loving it. Ray was down to earth and could enjoy the small things in life and stays loyal even after Freddie fires him. Ray kept proving f Freddie thet he couln trust him after all the bullshit he had put Ray through, yet Freddie chose to give Ray up for a fake and superficial lifestyle and probably a bit of cash too.
This lead to Freddie losing the only real "friend" he had (Ray).
I guess Ray either pitied him or felt that Freddie had fooled him too many times and that he felt so dumb that he revenge would go against his code. (Note that Freddie is the only character that repeatedly bullshits Ray and gets away with it) So there is a possibillity that Ray let him go out of respect for possibly outsmarting him many times over.
Regardless after this point forward, Freddie was left alive as a spineless weasel without having Ray around to watch his back.
A rich crime boss without loyal underlings usually ends up getting ratted out or killer by their underlings or other organizations, Freddie was easy pickings after his final interraction with Ray.

The sheep disguised as a wolf had the shepherd fooled, and the Shepherd let it run off to the real wolves.

  3. Boiling water with lots of sugar if there's no jam. Caviar is sturgeon roe, and after gorging myself on smoked cod roe as a kid, I've always had a hankering to have some more. It's like cream – better than lollies..

  4. They would have had black caviar, not red – if the intent was to show "false" class. Unless the intent was to show even "falser class"…

That's the single scene in the show that rang "false" to me.

    Great show.

  5. In England (especially south of England) it's called sploshing when you throw boiling baby oil, or butter with sugar. I spent a bit of time in prison as a youngster. You never forget the smell of burning skin.
