  1. A sailing friend once said "Boats are the opposite of rice". When you add water they get smaller. It's most noticeable when the winds and wave get higher. Out of water, standing on the hard, they look very large indeed, particularly for cleaning and polishing. Antifouling is less of a problem – except for the cost. On the West coat of Sweden I'm not sure if you can use real copper based antifouling; it's certainly illegal on the Baltic side.

  2. I'm going to have to track down a source for Mirka in the US. I burn through sandpaper like kindling at a campfire. Sounds amazing. And the folding propeller is neat. 👍

  3. The next time you do something like this, you should see if any of your followers, who live close by, might want to come out and lend a hand. I am sure if you had 3-4 other helpers, it would have saved you time and muscle aches 🙂

  4. Awesome polishing job, looks great. You are such a lovely family and very hard working. Another great vlog, thanks. 🙂

  5. Always great to see a nice boat being made to look pretty dang spiffy! Is Denmark open yet? Maybe you could be there when Athena has its big departure west.

  6. I am very new to your channel, after following Mads on Sail Life for some years – what is your boat? – what kind of sailing do you do (inland, coastal or open water)? – what are the best bits about your boat? – Thank you and lots of luck. Phil

  7. That cable-ferry that can be used on demand without assistance is an amazing idea. Stay strong on the job. It is indeed hard but not the first time you have to go through it. I know time (age) adds to the challenges. 😉 Cheers.

  8. Out here in California we have a problem with our cars paint getting oxidation. We have many polishing compound kits to remove the oxidation and put a wax polish. Some car owners use a two step epoxy polish after the oxidation has been removed. The object with removing the oxidation is to use a very fine abrasive, then followup with the polish. Body work on clear coat/paint or vinyl is not easy, it can be an art. Good luck!
    PS: Bananas for burning muscles.

  9. Malin, Johan og ikke mindst Vera. I er en dejlig familie. Lykke til med jeres flotte båd, og god sommer. 🇸🇪🤝🇩🇰 :o)

  10. I have been there, done that, and it truly is hard work. Second trip around even harder, but look at your accomplishments!!! So beautiful! Safe travels.

  11. Lots of hard work and I appreciate your attention to detail and the care you give to Ran. I love the joy you bring to your little girl as she plays
    “on the hard”. She’s beautiful!

  12. We had a Balboa 8.2 m sailboat. My father and I use to spend hours and hours buffing out hull and decks till my mom suggested to use Pledge furniture polish spray. I thought she was kidding, but It works like a miracle and no hard buffing. Just spray on a clean boat and wipe off. Lol just don’t use it on your decks because they will be as slippery as all heck. I also use pledge on a red 1969 sunfish that I currently have. It keeps the red gel coat like new, works great on decals too. The pledge spray makes hull as smooth as glass so that little tiny sailboat just glides on the water.
