So interesting, thanks so much to you
How have you found the lockdowns in SE Asia. We are full time cruisers, too (currently on the Pacific side of Central America) and opinion seems to be divided as to what best to do. There are stories of boats being refused from serial locations in the Carribean + the word remains that French Polynesia remains closed. We know several crusiers that simply left there boats in storage and returned home whereas others (us included) have bounced around Mexico and Central America as there are fewer restrictions here. What has your experience been – is SE Asia a viable place to aim for at this time.
Wow! First time viewer, what an absolute delight 👍 Also, whoever chose the music in the first part deserves an extra rum ration!
Ive watched for quite a while. This for me was the best video yet, my attention could not waiver, i love seeing the evening sunsets you showed to.The time overlays were awesome and as always, love how you teach and explain things. Incredible lifestyle seeing the realities not just all the good times. Hopefully ill be out there in a year living the salty blue life too. Thanks for sharing your experiences
You two are Great… Wishing you the Best!!!
so exciting. wishing you safety and joy on your passage
Great show guys safe travels
it is not due to Covid you can't stop anywhere; it is due to stupid gornment rules!
What a great adventure! Awesome story telling and way to live your life instead of spending it on the internet. Your videography is incredible for a sailing channel, I wonder what you are using to capture such a great adventure?
Your new sails look to have a beautiful shape. Have you noticed any speed increase over your old ones?
Just discovered your channel. First one I’ve seen where you are actually sailing the world. Very entertaining
Matt & Amy your story is the best. Keep em coming. Keep safe the both of you.
You both know how to end a video NO SATNAV. WHAT!!!! Back to plotting your own course eh! Roll on next week.
Great as usual , by the way no that ship has the right of way because it cannot maneuver as well as you can , so yes you are right technically sail over power but good seaman ship which you both do consistently
Dictates give the big boys a wide berth … land you are right they usually do not see you
Excellent! Thank you. Fair winds (soon!).
i see u leaving from port Victoria Seychellen on Marine traffic 🙂
I'm so pleased to see you back sailing (properly) again. Safe passage across the Indian Ocean.
B.t.w. Sorry of you've covered this some time in the past. How do you plan and budget for all the changing currencies on your travels – especially when you might not be near a 'hole in the wall'. Advice, what to avoid, tragic mistakes to avoid in the future??
Really liked the format showing the progress each day!
Epic 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Rini n I watch every video. Great to see you in good spirits. Fair winds n good health to you both.
A toughtrip to be sure. Be safe with the best of luck!
All the best on your voyage to the Sechelleys.
Great sailing great filming and content.
💫🧘🏾♂️⛵
Great to see you two crossing the Indian Ocean on your marvellous Florence!
Good vlog. Ill be back!
Excellent video, so entertaining. Love watching your videos have been following you for at least a year and a half. Admirable how you are so careful, Matt k ows how to fix everything! Amy's cooking, delicious!
Wow. New watcher and subscribed. I love seeing people challenge what others see as being out of our comfort zone. I wouldn't even dream to do that. Sure I could learn the skills but still no. Out in the middle of Australia sure, it's pretty hard to sink there but still faces many challenges that need to be overcome. I'll have to dig back and start at your beginning.
Three things that are guaranteed to make you smile when you see them. A wedding, a baby giggling, and a pod of dolphins frolicking in the sea around you.
I have to say this is one of the best sailing video I have seen, very well done. I passed the Indian Ocean many times on a cargo ship I still remember the Thunderstorms there Which I really always Enjoyed even being in a Hurricanes was my most Top Times. I couldn't wait to be in a Hurricane I know its really mad. You are so very lucky to be there at sea. Make it most of it. Thanks again for the beautiful video. Enjoy it.
I am late to the channel but simply gob smacked with what you do with what you have got.
Love it, great going you two, awesome stuff 💥👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻⛵️👍🏻
Stumbled on these great sailing video. Well done love it, love your honest story telling of life at sea how it really is. Brings back memories….
That pumpkin soup looked incredible!!! 😁😁
I know I'm a bit late, and being a bit pedantic, but you do not have "right of way" when sailing (9:50). I assume you actually know this and it's just a phrase, but noob sailors watch sailing vlogs, and they may latch on to a catchy phrase like that to disastrous consequence. There is simply no "right of way", only "give way" and "stand on" vessels. "Stand on" vessels never have a "right of way" as they are still required to avoid collision. And just to be pedantic to the point of absurdity, "stand on" is an obligation, not a right. So by giving way when you are the stand on vessel you are blatantly disobeying the only rules which could give any hint of a "right of way". Of course, altering course early to be extra safe at sea is fine seamanship, but the wording "right of way" may encourage other people to make poor decisions.
Cheers.
You guys are so industrious, Amy amazing, pickling veggies!
Just imagine how hard your balls must be to do this in a 37 ft yacht. This is a time when even ladies can have balls made of titanium.
Just catching up, great story
Amazing
Stupid question but can you guys get internet while at sea?
