30. That last Vista yes would have been great for the sunset but I saw a Monet like beautiful painting inspiration in the grayish lovely blue of the sky and sea reflected on the island rocks and foliage. Love it❤

38. I saw at the end of this video (17:01) that you went hiking alongside the levadas. They are one of the highlights of the island. If you don't know what levadas are, as Marlin explained at 10:20, Madeira has 2 sides – the north one gets all the rain, the south one gets all the sunshine but as a result is also quite dry. So the Madeirans built a system of irrigation canals called levadas that bring the water which abundant on the north coast to the southern part of the island. The levadas always have a path next to them so workers can service them, mostly removing rocks and branches that could obstruct the canals. So if you like hiking, following levadas is ideal; vegetation usually provides shade and you can cool off thanks to the fresh water constantly flowing next to you!
