Perhaps I misunderstood your question- but – The grooves are the moulded edge of fiberglass to the floorboard gap, allowing the floorboard a small amount of movement as you prise it up & out. Without the small gap, lifting floorboards would be a bit of a problem. Floorboards need to be routinely lifted for cleaning, inspection & access to any closed off part of the boat. The screws can be a bit alkward to free, though. It looks like you have a Bavaria- great boats!

I enjoy your clips. But as a sailor I would avoid your boat like the plague. You fly a Union Jack instead of the red ensign which reveals sailing ignorance. I would suspect that extends to other matters. For God’s sake sort it out!
You can easily sealed that gab with silicone rubber , any color you wish to , like the seals you usually do when you tiles floors !
