Back Story IS nice to know. as for leaving the Med. , if you have seen all you want to see , sure. or are you going to cross to Caribbean, then return in 6 months or travel to the Pacific? It is your choice, i'm sure there are many variables to consider that i dont even know. Either way i will be watching along with so many others. Fair Winds 😎

Sounds like a good plan. We had a Leopard 45 in Valencia and sail on honeymoon around Ibiza and Formentera in August 2021. We also have a similar plan to sail from Spain to Italy and then on to Greece. Maybe in a few years we will sail to the Caribbean.
But we sold our Leopard 45 in October 2021 and ordered a new Lagoon for 2022 but will not be in the med until April 2023? Love the videos.

Hi Ed / Patrica . We have almost identical boats as you know . We also have a similar story my partner Tracie has never sailed before just like Patrica . We also plan to sail the world but with 2 children . I have followed you on you tube from buying and selling the Lagoon 42 and now with the purchase and upgrades of your new Lagoon 46 . Our Lagoon 46 is still going through Dealer upgrades and commissioning and is due end of February 2022 .
We hope to be ready to set sail in January 2023 fingers crossed and will be living on board permanently . We like you will have full training for all crew members on board , it is without doubt essential that every member has a good understanding of sailing and how the vessel works and operates including all the safety equipment .
I cant thank you guys enough on the video content you have shared , it has with out doubt helped me make crucial decision in preparation on what so far has taken me almost 4 years to achieve and get to this point
We are looking to spend at least 2 full years in the Med as we love Croatia and the Greek islands and there is so much to see and do , then head of to the Caribbean .

I've been watching your channel since the beginning and I must say I'm impressed with how much you both have grown as sailors. Since you are already in the Mediterranean, I would have taken the trouble to include the Adriatic Sea to visit Croatia, Montenegro and Greece. I guarantee it's worth a visit. Great to hear your story, I'm working on the same plan, and are planing to set sail in 2025, I spend 6 years traveling all over usa and Australia in my 4wd. and later learn how to sail by transporting boat up along the Australian coast line. Sorry Im so late to this! But you will miss out on the oldest part of the med if you go direcly. It rather has to be "Do we endure the chaos of the med seas or do we want tranquilo seas?" When I go in 2025, I'm going to do a full year in Greece. There is SOOOO much to see and eat there! I rather skip the islands, than Greece. /Catta
As you would already be in the med., I would spend another year to visit other countries like Croatia, Turkey, etc. There will always be an opportunity to sail to the Carribeans and it will be difficult to come back to the med.

What steps did you take in order to have the ability to buy such a beautiful vessel? I’ve seen some boat (sailing & M/Y) channels where the couple still actively works, which I’m sure presents a while other level of challenges. Thanks for your insight and wonderful Youtube content.
