1. I love the way you two are SO calm. I don't know much about sailing but your skills, knowledge and sheer guts and determination contribute to that calmness I guess. I've been following your progress and enjoy each of your videos. You've probably been asked this question so apologies if I'm going over old ground but have you had serious concerns about pirates? There is the impression that pirating is rife but how much of a real risk is it? I very much admire you both and wish you every success in your voyage. Best wishes. – Lisbeth, Brisbane, Australia

  2. Nice watching good sailors handle a boat well. You can see your dinghy racing 🏁 background in the planning and execution of your routing and sail selection and setting. Lovely to watch. Here is some thing to try when running with the big genoa poled out. Drop your pole topping lift a bit and tighten your foregiy and genoa sheet until your genoa leech is quite tight but your is nicely rounded so air flow starts drafting out the bottom of the genoa and then see if your numbers 🔢 improve. Fair winds. 🐟

  3. Three days of beans and lentils!!!! If the wind dies down just point your butt at the sails and hold on tight!

  4. Well done mates!
Enjoy all the weather and route explanations, and truly enjoy your calm manner and how well you both work together…what a team!
Thanks for taking us along on your epic adventure, looking forward to the next video!
Sail fast, sail safe, have fun!
    Cheers from Waterloo NY, USA

  5. Wow, I feel the apprehension and tension. Of all the passages that I have made, that is one that I would just as soon avoid!! Wow, pins and needles.

  6. I look forward to each post! You guys inspire me and thanks for keeping it real and NOT sugar coating anything. Can't wait to see the next episode.

  7. Glad you avoided the cyclone or (s) that tore up Madagascar and Mozambique /Malawi. Surprising the calm er weather you have gone through. Hope you win the race to Richards Bay. Regards.

  8. Waiting impatiently for next leg into Richards Bay. I was one of Richards Bays engineers back in the 70's. Would be nice to see it again and hear your comments. I live in
    London now. Please post ASAP.

  9. A year or so ago I watched every You Tube sailing channel.

With Covid I found myself getting bored and stopped watching nearly all of them. Especially the Americans sitting on million dollar boats on tropical islands moaning about not being able to get home.

Two channels survived my cull… yours and Project Atticus.

You are a real inspiration and I hope in a few years to be able to follow in your footsteps.

My only hope for you is when you get back to the UK you head off back round the world again. Aside from friends and family there is nothing worth being here for anymore 🙁

  10. You had mentioned your future sailing plans after you complete the circumnavigation in the Caribbean. I'm guessing you will get there sometime this summer. Have you considered traveling to Aruba to weather the hurricane season, then wandering slowly north as winter passes, then up the coast of the US, to Canada, then across to Iceland and onward home by the fall?

  11. Hello Amy and Matt,I am currently playing catch up ,watching your videos and thoroughly enjoying them.i am at the moment on episode 39 and watching 3 or 4 at a time when I get the chance.i am looking forward to future episodes,so thank you for sharing your time energy and enthusiasm with us cheers Roly 🇬🇧.

  12. It always makes me laugh when I hear a sailor say “Absolutely flying” when I can ride my bicycle at a leisurely pace faster than their boat. But yeah I get it.

  13. Hi Amy and Matt I have been worrying about you and sincerely hope you have not got into trouble in the Mozambican channel. I you just have not been able to post a video.

  14. An extremely interesting video, thanks. I've sailed since I was 14 and had a yearning to be sailing since I was a very young child.

  15. Really fun and informative videos, with superb editing! Just enough info to keep us informed without drowning us in details.

Wondering if you 1) ever think about 'pirates' in that area? and 2) if you see any sea life whilst sailing (I'm thinking curious sharks and the like).

Looking forward to more binge-watching of your videos.

  16. I absolutely know something about weather forecast information. You cannot trust any Future cast….. In your line of business sailing. You need to be meteorologist, with an innate ability to predict your own future, you absolutely have to look into buying a weather Rock. What you do that you will perfectly understand. Do not ever be scared. Always deal with the situation at hand.. instinct instinct instinct. Believe in the power of your mind. Absolutely not the computer

  17. I grew up in the 60's and we'd go out powerboating, sailing small J21 I think they were called, we didn't have gps or all these electronics, that was the fun part, you never knew what to expect, now it's all computerized, I get it, it's a lot safer, I guess I liked the danger in it, even though we had confidence, good swimmers, life vests, but for me it was like adventures . Good luck.

  18. Love the tough sailing. Great stuff you two. If it was me and the Mrs doing this someone would be going overboard. And I'm not talking about the sailing either 😅. Just curious, What's the discharge from the hole on the bow for ? Keep up the great work.
