De la cabina înainte și stația de cârmă, până la designul orientat spre performanță, până la motoarele electrice, această pisică bifează toate căsuțele pentru viitoarea noastră familie de patru persoane. Singura problemă? Bani. Aceasta pare să fie o problemă recurentă aici. Ce crezi? 1. Great design for a fast boat. Surprised the owners side is not starboard side. Interior colors are great. The cabinetry has sharp corners – less than ideal when passage making in confused sea states. Similarly, not sure how well the front helm will drain in heavy weather. I don't think I could purchase this at the asking price.

  2. Bad finish jobs everywhere. I can't imagine the build quality is any better. Zero elegance in furniture design. Honorable mention: the engine throttle console looks horrendous. Dining area is relatively too small compared to the rest of the boat. Location of the helm would make it rather difficult to dock. $2.1M is far too expensive.

  3. I hope it’s great on performance, because that looks minimalist for the steep price. I like that it’s a “diesel” electric hybrid. Didn’t see where the batteries or generator were…. Thanks for the tour

  4. Yeah no that’s stupid $. It’s too basic for a $2m boat in my opinion it’s too much of a compromise. I get the construction & the all electric but over $2m even with lots of carbon is ott.

  5. Do not like the layout on this boat you will experience a lot of spray through the tramps in rough seas in that cockpit. Not a fan of the forward cockpit on a cat. Fly bridge helm is mush more desirable in my opinion and safer with better vision.

  6. Love catamarans with center protected helm like this and similar to the Gunboats. I don't know why more boats aren't offered this way. Also i'd wish you put the name and model of the boat in the title or atleast in the description. Now i have to do a google search for this boat because i'm not sure if you said Grainger, Ranger or something like that.

  7. I would absolutely HATE the cockpit forward. The lousy Fischer Panda generator on a $2+million boat is INSANE. The unsupported glass in the aft cockpit is pretty and STUPID. Might be your idea of a great design. Not mine.

  8. one prob…i wonder if take a wave over front those verticle small windows look like theyd blow right through….if slanted much less likely

  9. Cool boat, also love the forward cockpit. One thing I would address is lack of sailing instruments easily visible from the helm. Unless I missed it, you would need to lean to port and the nav desk to see any instruments, plotter, radar, etc. … ?
Perhaps a tablet mounted in front of the wheel would work?

  10. Some innovative features, yet I felt the boat seemed cramped compared to other designs of this size. Steps placed in the way of people boarding, sideways past the helm station to get into the hulls et.c. I hope the performance is really excellent for the $$$.

  11. Thank you 😊, I also ❤️ this boat, 🙌 🙏 to YOU from on High Christ ❤️‍🔥 Jesus, thank you 😊 Holy Abba 😇, Amen.

  12. Not my cup of tea, it leaves me with a lot of disappointments, basically because I don't know exactly what you're gaining in speed for the sacrifices you made with the narrow hulls. I did like the longer sugar scoops. and the bamboo but I would question how good those solar panels are and how long they last. I would prefer more electric power wind gen instead of diesel, but i get what you're saying about it. I feel the layout leaves some wasted space but again there's different opinions on that also. The price is laughable, but right now it's a sellers market.

  13. The impression I get from this boat is "Roomy, but Cramped"…. I see lots of storage space and lots of living facilities, but every thing is cramped together, but I guess that is what gives it the performance/cruise combination. The price is awfully high, but then it is a practically new boat.

  14. the exposed glass edge on the side of the cockpit… that's a no go. if it's glass it's a hazard, if it's lexan it's not gonna last and look pretty.. boat looks absolutely incredible overall

  15. I understand that this is a performance cat, but hey… What a horrible cockpit, with that awkward placement of the seating positions. Why a single spreader? No grabrails on coachroof. No extraction for the cooktop. Appears to have no rear vision – must be tricky to dock. And also: shared head in a 54'? Other than that, is a really beautiful vessel and probably a lot of fun to sail. Thanks for the review

  16. If they revolutionize solar panels. Lighter, cheaper, durability from what I've seen? Electric may be the preferred way! Thin film perovskite. Solar sails?

  17. Very nice cat. We currently own an earlier version of this vessel and can testify to its awesomeness. We sail her as a young family of four and routinely do double digits conservatively. Light. Fast. Strong. Timeless. Congratulations to all that delivered this Grainger. Edit. I posted my comment before seeing any others. Tough crowd maybe. I note that it is much cheaper, classier and easier to line the inside of a boat, but it adds lots of weight. The man hours to fair one cabin can be mind blowing and comes at a cost ironically. We find it great with young kids as everything wipes off. We have a traditional cockpit/steering thus can’t comment on the forward cockpit.

  18. Unless I'm missing something seems like 8 solar panels are sparse for an "all electric" sailing vessel unless you plan on running the genset a bunch. It is priced in the same space as massively solar paneled "power cats". Interior spaces are designed more as "pods" for cooking or Navigating or whatever else & not particularly pleasing,

  19. To make the "electric propulsion" actually reliable this cat needs 2+ times the present solar array otherwise all it is is a big while elephant coastal cruiser that needs larger diesel fuel tankage for running the diesel genset. Jordan, to say that the electric propulsion will have limited use is just unrealistic unless the vessel will only be used under ideal wind forecasts. If that is the case what will be its use. The only offset for that is employing a full time wind charting service & following those prevailing winds. Electric propulsion is great for relatively calm conditions where either maneuvering in squall conditions is not required or where the vessel is not becalmed. The vessel's solar array has a limited generation potential so its appliannce use needs to be sized accordingly. The position of the mast step has already limited the available sail area when compared to a more conventional rig. The price point is "jaw dropping" given the footprint.

  20. Nice cat – but…. has anyone of you forward-cockpit fans ever been in bad weather with waves even going over the saloon roof? Plus not everything is in the front – the traveler is not. Not a great setup IMO. And who builds a boat without hand rails on the saloon roof? Meh. Does not really seem all that thought through.

  21. with that degree of hull-narrowing, I'd want that thing to be able to reach 20 knots in 20 knots of wind without batting an eyelid, otherwise not for me. and also, I’d want it to move at 5 knots in 5 knots of wind

  22. The bottom line is the performance that it's capable of, which is not mentioned. It's claustrophobic for a cat of this length, so it better be fast because the trade off wouldn't be worth it, IMO. And by fast I mean over 20kts..

  23. Amazing design. Forward cockpit with the safety of an interior helm beats the hell out of hanging out in the back of the boat on a night passage. Finally, an improvement over sailboats that all have the same lackluster 19th Century interiors. Sail handling from the front cockpit on this cat will be a huge improvement over running forward to lower sail in bad weather. Kudos to the designers!
