  1. I thought the girls were pretty good because sailing is not easy with all those ropes and they don’t have years of experience like you and I think you’ve taught them well. But I think you should give them a little bit of praise once in a while. Everybody likes a little stroking here and there if you know what I mean. Haha

  2. The whole sail stuff seems WAY too complicated. I’m a mechanical engineer and have 0 doubt if I put my mind to it I could design an automatic system. It would require electricity and a control board, so maybe it’s a cost issue.

  3. The ladies will be ready to crew a Sidney to Hobart run in no time. MOB to me =Disengage the AP, heave to, start the engine, drop/furl the sails and go back. Have at least one on deck assigned to tracking where the person in the water is. If you want the ladies to speed up a bit you can just toss em into the drink one at time (one per drill) and then see how impressed they are with their MOB skills as viewed from being in the drink. This is best done in 30kts of wind or over and at least 2 meters for sea. Might be a good idea to have the one going into the drink wear a PFD.

  4. What A great Episode! I finally understand, what from the beam means, the wind is coming from the side, this was a great educational sailing video, keep these types of videos coming thank you Pluky

  5. A bowline w/ a tuck or you may get fd when slippery lines part ways, and if Plucky falls in toss him an anchor and gin, and come back in a couple o'days. The butterfly knot can hold a lot; tis the strongest knot you can make. But in a quick pinch, though old Pluky will wince, go thrice over, then 3 slip knots; quick unties for sailors who are somewhat baked.

  6. After all this time they are useless, trade them in. Maybe I am watching out of sequence, or just inattentive – I apologize Ladies.
OK, double apologies, once off the bean bag chairs – GOO JOB Ladies!
! ASSIGN ONE PERSON, IF AVAILABLE, TO keep an eye on the overboard crew member! Did I win a chocolate, Peter?
I apologize for being rude at first.

  7. Question? If you were in the water far away from the boat and it was an EMERGENCY situation. Wouldn't you drop the sails and motor towards you to get there as quickly and efficiently as possible?
