1. Welcome to the rest of the world! Please come back to the US and complain some more

  2. While Japan might have a tough work environment in terms of working long hours and following specific workplace manners and etiquette… you will work in safe conditions, in a good facility, and get treated with respect. Of course there are companies called “black” companies which just means “blacklisted” for their poor treatment of employees…. But in Korea unless you work for the government… almost every company is a black company!

  3. I lived in Korea for 4 1/2 years. Worked as an ESL teacher at 3 different schools. Oh I got stories and being a black woman in Korea is a whole interview in itself. Stores from working in the toxic work culture and living in the country. Hit me up Vice!

  4. I think this is one of the reasons why Koreans are having no baby nowadays. The culture is so depressive.😢

  5. On behalf of all Koreans, I apologize for all the horrific experience those of you had gone through. I read some comments here and shocked that really happened. I believe not most Korean Hakwon treats foreign teachers like that. In general Koreans like foreigners who are from English speaking country and sometimes put them on pedestal. The time is changing, but I agree that still some Koreans treat people differently by the country they are from. Like if you are from poor countries like Southern East asian countries.. some old Koreans think they are below them. I agree most Koreans are overworked. And kids are pressured to outperform their friends. It is the dark side of Korean. But at the same time most average Koreans are laid-back and generous to foreigners. We really welcome you and are willing to help you. I hope you guys come and visit Korea to have a lot of fun.

  6. I thought Korean movies were exaggerating. I was like sure there's some bullying but it absolutely cannot be this bad. Because how can human beings and even kids possibly be so mean and toxic? Turns out it's even worse in real life. And it's a really good explanation for why their fandoms are usually so toxic, because there environment in general is really toxic. What's even more crazy is their beauty standards.

  7. When working for a Japanese company it's the same. But I was able to ignore it. I was stupid, late, not as good as Japanese, but no-one could actually do what I was doing so I was safe on that project. It is actually their culture. Its how they make things happen at 75% the cost of the west and got rich as a country

  8. I am a multiracial woman— but I went to a Korean pre-school (Mama worked 3 jobs and everywhere else was packed) the Women were shocked my Indigenous Latin Mother trusted them with me.
I have some of my most fondest memories with those Women and kids— they didn’t treat me any different if anything my kinky hair made everybody so interested in getting to know my Family.
It devastates me to hear the otherside!
North Korea has always been a sore spot for me as I was raised by South Koreans I hope one day they are all free!
I know that sounds unrealistic in these times but thats just my inner child wanting to protect the community that helped raise me even though I was mixed race—
I’m a Mommy now myself and just the way this woman is sitting recounting what she saw made me cry— body language is so loud to me and always has been, I’m an only child though— we see evvvverything in confidence like a driver, like a butler/PA or personal security detail.

I pray we all get to heal soon man—

  9. Worked as an English teacher in South Korea for 6 months as well. Wasn't sexually harassed but also had a terrible experience. I was a midnight runner.

  10. If Korea cut off 1 hand of the thief and bully, the bullying will end in the country because not everyone can take this risk and they are cowards.

  12. I love the content on this channel but the narrator doesn't have to mask their voice because sometimes it's really difficult to determine what they are saying at times

  13. This a very low-budget and editing-work for making videos. Thus a very good concept. The only thing is, is that no one knows if these testimonies are real. I know a youtube channel who fakes their claims/stories. So, I just don't know what is and what isn't.

  14. Illegal Ballet? Don't teach it. I'm sorry. All these videos talk about instances where the adults could do something to either protect themselves or make a choice that would better themselves. Who is forcing you to do a 5, 6, 7, 8?
