Explicăm ce ni s-a întâmplat ca să ne întunecăm în 2021, planurile noastre de navigație pentru 2022 și cum vom trăi pe barca noastră actuală în timp ce căutăm următoarea noastră barcă, care va fi un catamaran cu propulsie solară și electrică. Vă arătăm câteva dintre upgrade-urile pe care le-am făcut pentru ca barca noastră recentă să fie potrivită pentru o croazieră cu normă întreagă, în timp ce căutăm următoarea noastră barcă. Intenționăm să luăm această barcă de la Lacul Ontario, prin Canalul Erie și să coborâm pe ICW până în Florida, unde vom începe serios să cumpărăm un catamaran de croazieră, dar acum am decis că nu ne interesează un Cat cu motor diesel, ci unul care are un multă propulsie solară și electrică. Acest lucru poate face căutarea noastră mult mai dificilă, dar credem că electricitatea va fi viitorul și nu vrem să cumpărăm tehnologii vechi care sunt costisitoare de rulat, necesită tone de întreținere și sunt puternice și provoacă mult CO2 și poluare. Alăturați-vă nouă în călătoria noastră pentru catamanul electric perfect.

Don't rule out a parallel hybrid electric / diesel. Until batteries get better a parallel hybrid makes most sense in terms of safety, redundancy, more freedom makes the most sense. The beauty of parallel hybrid is you can not use the diesel as if you were totally electric. With parallel hybrid electric capability will be the same as if you went 100% electric.

Glad you two are well! It's hard to say these days, and the worst is always possible. When we ask if everything is ok, it comes from a genuine place and from genuine interest in you two as people. Why not do what the owner of Silent Yacht did? Buy a used catamaran..maybe a demasted..economical used and turn it into the electric all solar vessel you want? In the long run, it will be much more economical and you can put what you want (the best or what you can afford equipment).
