Here is a true story of a sailing boat was found drifting and unattended off the far North coast of Queensland, Australia in the area of the tropical Great Barrier Reef. When inspected, the yacht had three prepared breakfast on the saloon table. The most possible explanation was that all of the three man crew, decided to take a morning swim together (no one left aboard). The swim ladder wasn't deployed. A similar situation whereby the three men were unable to climb back aboard.
Crew was declared as lost at sea.
I imagine trying to explain this to the authorities would not be easy
What a simple yet terrifying plot. And to read initially from this videos comments to Google, jumping off a boat into water forgetting the ladder is lowered and being in peril because of it is a thing. Holy smokes. Luckily I have no yacht, boat or friends……now I’m sad

Why don't boats have little notches built in on the sides? Like little footholes. Seems there would be cases where people fall off by accident and need help.
You punch one hole in the boat as high above the water line as you can reach with the knife, embed the knife in the hull and use it as a way to climb up, movie over, boat won't sink.
There’s an amazing movie by and with Robert Redford where he’s solo sailing when the mast breaks and he’s stranded in the middle of the Atlantic , it has some similar qualities to this but is truly amazing movie especially since he’s the only person in the entire movie so there little talking of any at all, jsut the sound of water . Great movie for falling to sleep .

This happened to my friend Ma-Ti, he has a yacht and had gone on a cruise with a beautiful woman named Linka, Linka slipped off the boat and got unconscious so Ma-Ti had to dive and save her, however it turns out that the ladder isn't down yet.
Luckily Ma-Ti is wearing his ring so he used the power of heart to call in a whale so they can ride on it to get back on the yacht. Thanks to the power of heart they are saved. Go Planet!
How idiot's died pointless death
So it was the first yacht to lower its anchor from the underside and zero visibility of its access point to the boat, also implying that large area of the boats mass would then be necessary for storage of anchor and chain/support line?
Pro Tip: Always lower the yacht ladder. You’re welcome.
