Alright, I guess I'll just get in my car and "drive on down" this morning with my checkbook. Errr the bank might help me out with some cash. Yea, $100.00 Ben Franklins. Maybe a handful of those. Maybe a big handful. Anyway. I am "On my way" down Rt 1. to Fairhaven. See you in a couple of hours. No problem. Maybe the yard there will put it up for me for the winter. Or maybe I'll just continue on down the coast to Florida. Not sure. Yep~~~. Just a hand full of those "Ben Franklins." All good. Gonna happen. Yep. No problem.
For once, I'd love the good Cap to start off his show with, "A real wreck… Better off as a sunken diving vessel… Depressing interior… A candidate for disposal…" etc.
ATTENTION! Randay, there is a huge disparity between CQ’s mic and the interluding (awesome) music. just fyi. fingers on the remote for quick attack, some viewers may not possess my same skills!! thanks for the vids. and also please more of your boat owning journey.
Wonderful boat.. thanks Captain
I showed her to the wife and as she watched it she was smile’s all around. She said, “sell the flicka and we will get puffin along.”
Cheerio Captain and Randay. Jack is beaming ear to ear having just watch this episode. Thank you so much for the shout out. We’re on the way down to the Southampton Boat Show as we speak. Hopefully we’ll all meet up at a boat show one day, or better still out on the big blue. We will be sailing to Florida to meet our friend Pam Wall, who is also a bit of a sailing legend like yourself, som
Maybe while we’re on the east coast we can make our way up your direction
Capt Q and Ran-Day
Thank you, what a fantastic episode and not just because it was a British boat. I laughed all the way through, the more episodes you’ve watched the better the in jokes get; although got to say it was as informative as ever.
Thank you guys great effort. Tally Ho! 😂
We need a Captain Q for the left coast…or perhaps a Capt. Q clone…so many enticing vessels for a shopper, but too far away from us PNW folks.
Hope you guys do this forever. Can't wait until Thursdays and the next episode.
I would have liked to hear a bit about those "windows". The rest of the boat is so beefy so I will assume those are somehow too.
Very much in my price range! A great vessel!
Beautiful blue water boat.enjoyed so much .
Cheers.
The real gem here is the Baby Blake – They’re over $5000 new. I have one on Celeste and nearly fell over at the service kit price and hence discovered the Blake price! It is indeed a throne..

Has Sea Dog ran away, stolen perhaps? I found him…
And I'm in Florida. Damn, what the heck
Did someone forget to turn a microphone on?
Wow center cockpit with aft and Full Keel… you hit the sweet spot
Thanks again fellas. I like the stereo spread in the audio. But, maybe pan 15% or so less to avoid listening fatigue.
Howdy Captain Q & Randy,
Chef Phil here again.
Wow! This is a cool boat.
I must ask but what's the difference between a motorsailer boat and a regular sailboat? Is it that the engine on a motorsailer is significantly larger than on a regular sailboat?
Also, how can one tell if a sailboat is OK or "certified" for bluewater sailing? How do you know this one is? Are you saying that on this boat you use the motor more than the sails?
I really liked the unique design with this boat. Love that aft cabin. The solid/permanent design of the wheelhouse/cockpit was cool but didn't really look like a sailboat cockpit. The wood on deck and below is beautiful for sure.
I was laughing out loud when you uncovered the Dinty More on the stove and what a surprise to have found chestnuts too!🤣 My chef brain was immediately activated and I think we should roast those puppies and then sautee with some pearl onions, bacon and honey as a fall side dish to that can of DM.
What do you think of that CQ? It would even pair nicely with that bottle of wine in the fridge! 😁
Anyway, thanks for the grand tour again. I'm really enjoying your videos because I learn so much. I love how you name things/parts on the boats and how Randy is so kind to even have on screen descriptions or explanations of what you're referring to. I also like when Randy politely stops you when you mention a certain word/part of the boat that, perhaps not everyone understands because some of us are newbies to the hobby. That's really helpful and appreciated.
I think this may be a neat video idea: perhaps use Randy's boat and do a walk through and go over all the parts and descriptions of them and explain why they're there and what they're used for.
Just an idea, especially for us newbies😊.
On another note, will you and Randy be showing up at any boat shows this fall and if so would you mind disclosing this info? Love to meet you both and talk about sailboats and more palatable ways to serve up Dinty More😆.
I'm currently in the Philippines but should be back by the end of October, Lord willing.
Thank you both once again for the great video and a really interesting, beautiful boat.
You both take care and God bless!
Didn’t MARCO also build fishing boats?
This is the one for me just right in most every way. Thank you two again for another wonderful seeing and learning show
Would there be any problem adding a Cape Horn self-steering system?
so far, before going below, i love this boat. @21.12 pretty close youngster, that is actually a NAV. 1.02 version chart table. 🙂 i think i want this boat. what is the diff'. btwn a motor sailor and a regular sailboat? they both have motors of varying power onboard?
Nice little ship.
“🎵Chestnuts roasting on my Dinty Moore”🎶
Considered one of these myself, but the good ones sell too quickly…
Nice video as always…
OMG I’m in love! If that boat was in the PNW I’d be looking at it today and at that price?! That would be my boat to get to Alaska though you didn’t mention heat. Love your show. Thank you.
Well certainly screams North Sea boat. I think you need to do a Fischer in future review. I'll admit I haven't watched every episode but have you done bilge keel boats??
Westerly springs to mind though not all their boats were bilge keel.
Built by Priors at Burnham on Crouch UK when building Wooden yachts was becoming too expensive. Back in the day Priors built some wonderful wooden yachts.
The Coaster was probably their last go at continuing yacht building to stay in business.
They did however build the very competitive cold molded Dragon hulls at Petticrows when they were at Burnham. Alas Priors have now closed their doors. The “Coaster” and that is what it was built for, has a cruiser stern.
I was looking at the current price of a Baby Blake here in Australia. More than $12,000 so that's about 8.5k in the US I guess.
What a great presentation of a well designed boat. Could not believe the thickness in the aft cabin doors. This would have been a joy to own 20 years ago, alas. Thank you Q and R.
so nice… thanks gents
Remarkable that it is only a 33ft. Can she be sailed single handed?
Gentleman as the captain has irish genetics no actually heritage. I going to tell you an irish Yarn. WE rang Alan hill one night. The initial response was tormented. When we were done he got a vip visit into dunmore east on a biscay36 his design also. He called the village the glue pot and was a broken man when he left. All we rang him for was advice on keel bolts. De Factio
The helm looks uncomfortable
I love ya'll reviews. You need to have a collaboration with the Admiralty
Looks remarkably like a Nauticat
Love this boat
Send help, I think there's something wrong with my right ear…
For that money it is a steal . Love it
Excellent!
I love this sailboat but Captain Q is right to call it a motor sailor. I looked it up and had s.a./Dis of 8.44 but is super heavy and has comfort ratio of 42.36
Thanks for another great boat show, especially enjoyed the music, keep up with the jazz.
She is a beauty Thank you Gent's.
Good stuff guys but the music is about 10db louder than the voice.
Audio/voice is messed up
Amazing video, I have just bought a coaster 33, amazing looking boat, but on the sailing melody shout out, I own one of their old boats the snapdragon 24, I bought it back in June to learn to sail on, now I have just upgraded to a coaster 33, what a great little synchronicity. I was glad to hear you compare the coaster to the HR Rasmus as that was another boat I was considering but went with the coaster and glad I have. It feels a lot bigger than a 33 foot, like a mini big boat or at least it does to me, it's the little features that make it for me, plus it's beautiful looks, will be uploading some videos soon 🙂
