  1. Glad you're safe and in such good spirits. Love to see the sun light up your hair Khiara. It's a highlight for me, pun intended 😄

  2. food there is grown in normal conditions… food here in US is all pumped up on steroids and artificial nutrients.. so the food you are eating in the Caribbean is much healthier more of a natural organic…..

  3. To your question @7.55. Produce grown (for market) in Australia and the western world is grown for shelf life, transportability (doesn’t damage easily), resistance to insects, disease, funguses, etc. in fact you probably have to get to important fact number ten before flavour or texture even come into it, it’s commercial food production, what you have there is not, it’s more like a home garden WHERE TASTE MATTERS🤔😉🤫.

  4. so glad you missed Fiona.. hard to believe after the Caribbean and Bermuda it came north on a stallion and hit the Canadian Maritime not too far east of me on the Midcoast of Maine .. And oh brother I'm really feeling for those in Puerto Rico from Fiona and those in Florida offected (I use the "o" so I don't have to think about it) by Ian just recently battered …

  5. oh and I loved your back and forth dissetation on fruit. I was doubled over laughing.. You two could do it in a stand up comedic routine.. Reminded me of Abbot and Costellos "Who's on First" routine.. Loved it !! oh and add the therapeutics of walking barefoot in the mud and the shore and boat clothes discussion.. Oh hell it's ALL Good Stuff a friend says a lot. Don't ever stop your positive sides take on things.. It's better than barefoot in the mud therapy for me anyway lol…

  6. That price tag on the back of your head at the end of your hike….Adam trying to sell you? 🤔😂 Or are you going to return the item after wearing(testing) it. Just joking….but it made me smile. Good to see that you side-stepped that hurricane.

  7. Clouds look really angry at 10:00, but Khiara carried sunshine in her lovely red hair. "You're not lost until you stop looking."–Love it! Y'all are going to get "proper lost" following the coastline and wading in the mud. Glad y'all are safe!

  8. I'm watching this 3 days after hurricane Ian come through central Florida, where I live. Ian destroyed alot of the communities around us. 2.6 million people without power. Ian got up to a high category 4 just before land fall.

  9. Glad you escaped the ferocious weather. You are such an entertaining channel in the broadest sense, and so positive. Means a lot to many of us!

  10. Hey guys can I ask a question? Re anchoring etiquette in busy anchorages ? Do you rock up and say G'Day mate – I am going to drop my spade right here on your starboard quarter – by the way mate how much chain do you have out? Or how do you do it – do you ever get – mate you are too close MOVE… also please explain your solar panel set up -loved ya cleaning the prop… good technique – Cheers

  11. Khiara’s Englishness has rubbed off on Adam – he referred to his forward as ‘flip flops’ and not ‘thongs’ (although he did later!!) Isn’t that unheard of for an Aussie!??

    Fab episode as normal!!

  12. I always say I never get lost since I know where I am. I do occasionally lose my destination though.

What I am confused about is why it matters that there is rain when you want to swim.

  13. Seems like it takes about 10 years for every cruiser to completely forget the past and ignore things like seasonal weather. (The Lagoon at St. Martin– twice, The Virgin Islands in October–twice. Eluthra, Marsh Harbor, and Bermuda in early fall–-. Even world circumnavigators like Delos choosing to try to go up the Mexican Rivera this October, completely ignoring Bernard Moutissier's Josua washed ashore and filled with sand on the beach in Cabo San Lucas while every fiberglass boat was ground to smithereens. .

Your shots of the 300 boat parking lot are mind blowing! Consider that half of them are anchored to undersized anchors or antique CQR's, or are two story tall cattlemarans, and visualize the clusterfuck that will result from even a little 45 knot squall and wind shift.

There is a time and season for everything. Cartagena and Guna Yala. Right now!

  14. Think of all who have encountered Fiona and Ian. In the meantime you two have pinned the silly meter with this one; thanks for all the fun and keep them coming!

  15. Being even close to a hurricane is no fun. We got hit by the outer band of huricane Kay here in the Sea of Cortez. A number of boats jumped off the Baja side and ducked into Bahia San Carlos, including SV Delos. We had sustained winds of mid to upper twenties and gusts into the 40s. Highest gust was 58 kts. I never want to be any closer than that.

  16. Glad you got out the way of Fiona guys, though i suspect those storms you weathered must have been the start of Ian, keep making those wise choices and lets hope your luck holds as well to keep you out of the danger zone if any more develop! I suspect that being in the Carribean at this time of year would be like sitting off Cairns or Broome in the middle of our cyclone season just daring old Huey to do his best (or worst as the case may Be).

  17. Hey Khiara and Adam, I hope you wear ear plugs when cleaning the bottom or props. Little creatures are released and end up in your ears and can cause a lot of grief. Wondering if your going to start heading home? André in Sydney

  18. I have enjoyed your videos for a good while now, so I joined the Patreon community just to make things right. I look forward to your next adventures, hoping to watch future episodes in my new SMF shirt!

  19. Here the produce is sprayed with an edible wax/preservative (antibacterial)to keep it fresh longer. Not supposed to be toxic, but we’ll find out about that in 20 years. 😎

  20. I am in Florida and took a direct hit of the eye in Punta Gorda. 150 MPH winds. The boat yard in Port Charlotte where you purchased your boat was destroyed. Bananas are refrigerated with 12 hours and while they are shipped. This retards the ripening process. Before they are delivered to the store they are gassed with Ethylene Gas to begin the ripening again. I refrigerated. Fresh Bananas naturally produce Ethylene Gas when cut and piled in the market leading to quicker ripening

  21. We’re in Rio Dulce, Guatemala. There’s a storm heading our way right now. But it will likely just be a big rain event.
We’re up on the hard though doing boat jobs!
Glad you guys are safe! We love your videos and we also sail a Tayana 🙂
Check us out if you’re interested!

  22. I heard it called grounding
Grounding, also called earthing, is a therapeutic technique that involves doing activities that “ground” or electrically reconnect you to the earth. This practice relies on earthing science and grounding physics to explain how electrical charges from the earth can have positive effects on your body.Aug 30, 2019

  23. Love watching you guys. Keep up the great vibe! For what it's worth, I've added you to my lottery list. Winning means major Milly refit, or Milly 2….something in a Kraken 50 maybe :-). Whistle up some luck for me, and you.

  24. Earthing is when you connect your electro-magnetic field with that of the Earth, so you regain some balance and energy. Walking barefoot or laying on the ground are the most common methods. It's considered one of the primary ways to remain healthy. Very much like going out in sunshine for Vitamin D. Or eating certain foods for balanced chemistry.
