  8. I just bought clear teflon antifouling from smooth sailing. They claim it is transparent when dry and is a long lasting substitute for varnish. Other teflon companies claim its easy to clean growth, 15 to 20 mph usually and can last over 10 yrs.

  9. Always tie off while on deck. As you exit the companionway into the cockpit always tie off. Imagine being lost overboard in the middle of the night or early morning. Or having your child lost overboad.

  13. Right on Ron…My deceased husband, a Ret. Admiral, our then 4 year old daughter and I, sailed our cabin cruiser around the Big Loop in 1995-7…She had been taking swimming lessons since she was 2….but she always wore a jacket….and we expected that from all who came on board….
