Good job on the shaft seal. One item I always carry on board is a toilet wax gasket. Can be used for many things. used it once on a friend's boat where we used it to temporarily install a depth sounder by allowing the transducer sit in the wax as the transducer was able to penetrate through the hull.

Ah so they are using some old tech for prop shaft seal. Just like in centrifugal pumps. They use 2 ceramic discs for the shaft water seal.
It’s called “pump mechanical seal”. I prefer drip free Teflon packing on my 26’ HT Shamrock. Less fidly.

ALL THOSE PROBLEMS COULD IT BEEN SOLVED BY USING A UNIVERSAL JOINT LIKE CARS OR TRUCKS DRIVE SHAFT ,WHO WORK AT ANY ANGLE AND ELIMINATE ANY MISALIGNMENT ! AND FOREMOST YOUR ENGINE WILL OPERATE AT ZERO ANGLE !
