1. Such a sweet couple…….. really admire what they have achieved particularly being so young.

  2. All part of the journey, whilst scary at the time I’m sure you already realise that this is part of your adventure and you will look back in months to come and be glad you have had all these experiences. Love the story so far, I look forward to each episode. Thank you!

  3. I am reminded of a saying that encourages adventure: "A boat is safe tied up in the harbour – but its not what its designed for" Enjoy the adventure!

  4. Fantastic sailing you guys, its a real pleasure to see young people doing a lifetime journey such as your doing, many only dream (sitting on the couch) what you are actually doing ! We are in our mid seventies and met in 2014 as i was retiring from Polytechnic teaching job, apprentice carpenters. In 2015 my wife and I decided to walk the Camino from France over the Pyrenees to Santiago. We felt we hadn't completed our dream so decided to carry on to Fisterra, spent a couple of days there, then decided to walk up to Muxa another 36 ks and two days. Beautiful area to explore, can also highly recommend Fisterra, the Harbour is fantastic and sheltered, we looked down on it each morning, really look forward to your Videos and life experiences. Cheers from New Zealand

  5. Love the more raw realistic and honest storytelling you guys are putting out. Makes me feel a sailing adventure is far more realistic goal for me as I KNOW I’d be on a far greater roller past of emotions than the other “always happy and positive” sailing channels portray. Thank you xxxx

  6. You are two of the luckiest young people in the world. Don't ever forget that ,sometimes things will get tough but you have come this far so keep on sailing. I am so happy to hear you say 22 miles to go . I hate those Euro Brits who think that a Kilometer is something important. I just wanted to beam over from the U.S. AND GIVE YOU A HUG.

  7. We had exactly the same thing with the helicopter off A Coruña earlier this year. Came out, hovered above us a couple of times, then flew off!

  8. Slow down, it’s all about the journey, not the destination. Wear life jackets, avoid arriving into unfamiliar anchorages in darkness – there’s no need to take unnecessary risks and scaring yourselves. We wish you well and want you both to enjoy the sailing and live the dream 🤗

  9. just come across with your channel…uau… it made me remind me my all buying process e also the biscai bay crossing from quiburon to lisbon… then all the learning process, first sail with my kids and the first sunset. incredible memories. we live in Lisbon so if you stop by on your descend to south please say hi. we will take a coffe ir a bear

  10. A few tears and worries on this passage. Six months from now the same weather will only get " that was a bit sporty this arvo" and you will have complete confidence in the boat and yourself.

  11. I'm enjoying every step of your journey guys. Just epic. It's hard to imagine you haven't had your Day Skipper for a year yet! I think you're both showing incredible experience and resilience. I would have been pretty damn expressive and emotional after a day like yours. And yet a day later you're cracking on for 17 hour passage!! Seriously, hat's off to you both. You're bloody ace.

  12. Re the thing with the whisker pole and the genoa – can you put roll the genoa away without taking the pole down? If you rig it so you can, it means you can get the sail area down in a hurry and deal with the pole later. Looks a bit weird sailing around with the pole sticking out but that's not something to worry about…

  13. Good job you guys. Next time you have strong winds it'll seem a little less stressful. You both have a great attitude and that's what's important.

  14. You talk about trusting your ability. How about trusting your boat to. Your baby, your girl. I can tell you have bonded already. So trust her. One day you'll be in 10 times worse.

  15. You are doing exactly the right things, planning, checking weather etc etc, but remember that old sailors motto. Shit happens and you have to deal with it, and you did, well done. Looking at the video it looked like you set your anchor alarm after you had let all your chain out, which means it is set where the boat is. Much better to set it when you drop the anchor as you want to know if the anchor moves not the boat.

  16. That thing where you are in a jamb and can't just bail, so you deal with it. It changes you.Thing is , it may actually physically change you. It is called hormesis. You have structures in your cells called nucleosomes. They are like spools that have your genes wound around them like a winch. The genes that are not wound but are free can be expressed because chemicals can reach them. When we are stressed, the nucleosomes unspool and reveal different genes that then become part of our encoding that is expressed. And genes that were free become spooled. Something lost but something gained. So stress makes us different people.
Hopefully for the better. Though Welsh people may lose their special ability to understand long place names.
