Canada appeared to have gotten 3 separte penalties after the start one, but none of the incidents were on screen.
the paddock here could have been stretched out to a reaching course, maybe with a kink in it, and made the whole endeavour more fun to watch.
What a mess
Such a shame that they have created such a great race series and then have to screw it up with Mickey mouse race management that can't seem to communicate to either the racers or the broadcast team. On top of that a broadcast team that is forced to dumb down the commentating insisting on using km/hr instead of knots that every sailor in the world uses just because the numbers are bigger. Free hint, put a virtual eye type overlay in the corner so the viewers (and commentators) know where the fleet is, use knots and proper parlance (the viewers will learn), and take a hint from NFL broadcast and teach the viewers the finer points. I never played football in my life and yet know all about offense lineman techniques from watching pregame coverage. Finally tell race managent to actually communicate to the broadcasters and ideally, not shorten a course after the boats have finished.

The third race should have been cancelled and added to Sunday schedule…from 7 to 5 then 3 gates? LoL Won't watch entire session Sunday if first race has sub-10 knot (19kph) winds

Slingsby/Aussies are still vulnerable in light air and with their starts. Lets hope Day 2 has some breeze these 4 manouevre/ 3/5 short leg races in Dubai are awful, set up for whoever is first to the mark. Compressed course and disturbed light air on Day 1 for boats behind is race over early.
Too bad Nova Scotia, Providence, et al can't afford to buy the hosting privilege.

Please, please release a live video aerial or overhead video with boat speeds on all (like in the Americas cup) so sailors can see the tactical movers most especially approaching and rounding marks.

How is it that the commentary is not in sync with the video? That seem like it should be a basic quality that SailGP should be able make. As for the rest of the criticism below, as a non-sailer, I think SailGP in general is doing a fine job with the broadcast. Over time, it will get better.
Sailors in the US don’t measure boat speed in mph.. We ALL use knots!!! Using KM/H is ridiculous 😂
These commentators seem to get paid per word. It‘s annoying as hell. I wish I had a mixer where I could shut them down and enjoy the sound of sailing and the sailors conversations.

General noob question. Why don't they put both foils down in the water to help pop the hulls out of the water in light winds, then once above the water retract the upwind foil?
Graphics are great, camera shots are poor and labels full of numbers with up two digits after the decimal point are useless, confusing and completely impossible to read in such a short time that are shown. TV decisions are worse than very poor!
16 minutes racing seems completely ridiculously small amount of time. Format of racing must be revised in my opinion.
