  1. Bring on the celestial nav, spent a year at night school on this with one of the world's worst teachers, looking forward to keeping it simple as! Madame Arcarty has been staring at my crystal ball, she seems to say no to St Helena (terrible shame) but yes to Ascension…!!

  5. Hello Sophie and Chris, this is a very nice video..I just love the interactions between you both.. You both seem to be very comfortable sailing as a team..
    As far as the Celestial Navigation is concerned I will PM you about this..
    Today's apps are a nice replacement for the elaborate trigonometry without replacing the basics of celestial sights, compass deviations, dead reckoning and running fixes after the sight reduction data is obtained..
    Looking forward to Part III where I hope we will see "Ocean Wanderer"

  12. love your work ,I have my grandfathers "Mcbride and Kerr " sextant that he navigated the atlantic with in the early 1800's as a young newfoundland skipper of 2 masted scooner ,I would love to learn (even just understand ) celestial navigation , I have enjoyed your journey and wish you 3 all the best in your future adventures!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Very cool your expedition to Santa Helelna, this incredible rocky place, which was once a prison, in addition to Bonaparte's final exile. Orphans Cove on Ascension Island is a tiny paradise in this isolated and beautiful region of the extreme south of our hemisphere. I wish you a super stay, and that you enjoy these southern airs.
