I would love to see videos of you searching for a boat and what options there are in your part of the world. I am American and love to watch road trip videos of Europe & UK. I am hoping to visit one day lol Also love watching boat tours so a combination of these would be interesting to me. Just be yourself and document your journey you will lose some people but gain others!!! Just be real and be yourself.

The cars are cool. They will keep many subscribers happy. A few prospective boat tours will do the same. In my humble opinion you are right to take your time. Plenty of boats out there. A full self build would be a massive project. Personally I'd be looking at a nice monohull. Easier motion at sea. Cheaper marina costs. But that's just me. Best of luck

When looking for a boat you have to remember Brexit and the U.K. Recreational Craft Directive 2017 which becomes law this December. Basically if you buy a second hand boat from the EU that was in the EU ON BREXIT DAY and bring it here to the U.K. for more than 3 Months You have to pay VAT AGAIN even if it is a British registration VAT paid boat. Worse any second hand boat imported into the U.K. now needs to comply with the U.K. Recreational Craft Directive 2017 as Britain no longer recognises the EU CE mark. That means it must have a holding tank and a low emission engine as well as full safety equipment and standards. It can easily cost £30,000 to get a second hand boat up to the required standard. This has raised U.K. second hand boat prices in U.K. waters by 20 to 30% and good boats often sell within days. It may be much better to move the project to the EU where you will find better prices and not need to worry about the U.K. vat and directive costs.

There are quite a few Wharrram Tikis here in Phuket, Maxim is selling up his Wharram charter buisness ( Siam Sailing) , He has built several Wharrams together with a german guy (sorry forgotten the name). I had a look at a couple absolutly beautiful ! Can live very cheaply here while building although importing things can be expensive,

Hey Mark, good content keep it up…………couple of things 1. What was the distance and route to Lefkas for your parents? Did you take same route back? What are the costs in doing that? That in itself is a mini adventure and make a good video. Even a short one describing it. 2. There's a Southerly 28 on Ebay, really good condition and built to A1 Lloyds so ocean going. Good deck space, good vision from wheelhouse, Lots of space for a single handed sailor or couple. I knew the boat when a previous owner had her 3 yrs ago. Just a thought.
