Yosh, Is the rigid panel the one you drilled through when installing? I install solar on boats professionally and my experience is that the rigid panels are about 2x as efficient as the flexible panels. Knocking out even a single cell in that rigid panel will have a dramatic effect on the output.

I didn't know that about the reed valve swap. That's awesome. Did you have to change the main jet in the carby? It might be running dangerously lean if you didn't. Pull a sparkplug and have a look. cheers.
I have an Ecoflow Delta Pro for hurricanes and it will run my large frige/freezer overnight with 60% power left when the sun starts making power. It has a 30 amp output that I plugged a friend's travel trailer into and it ran the air conditioner, fridge/freezer & LED Lights for 3 hours with 40% power left (no solar panels attached). I'm thinking about buying the 3600wh additional battery to double the power and connect them together to make 240V AC to run the water pump for the house. I've had my Ecoflow for a year and used it to run large plug-in power tools in the woods and run the 27cu ft fridge/freezer overnight when the power went out. I like it a lot.

The upside is the engine has more power. But downside is because you’re making the engine work a lot harder. Its lifespan will be shorter.
If only it was that easy to get that big a bump in horsepower in most cars!

Hi, are there no power units to connect a laptop to 12V? Should be easily possible as the computer uses less than 5V inside. Converting to 110 and back down to 5 creates a huge loss and limits it all.
Another hit by Yosh the Nanji Toolman! I learn so much each time you publish a new video. The message is clear, do your homework before jumping off the cliff. A trade in for an upgrade to a 15 hp engine could easily have cost more than $1000 USD even if the 9.9 hp was relatively new. All of us who live a quick 5 or 10 minutes to get anything we need fail to realize the resourcefulness required when the next port is hundreds of miles away. You really have to be prepared for ANYTHING as a yachty.

Those readouts for solar you show contradict your "not as efficient" comment. The single panel shows around 100w and the large one shows 300w of power being produced. You cannot just refer to panel amperage without also referencing the voltage they produce. Otherwise its like comparing apples and orangutans

Your big panel is putting out 22.4 amps in your video. Look at the battery amps line to see the amps being produced. The number you were pointing to is the amps going in to the controller but at the panel voltage not battery voltage.
Great vid guys, the outboard up grade is a game changer. It’s amazing how much cruising life has changed since I lived aboard Malaysia and Thailand during the 90s. Didn’t have gps or even a working depth sounder although We did get a little lost the first few months of exploring the beautiful Anderman sea. I’m hoping to get back out there in a couple of years and buy another boat for my retirement. Keep up the good work and maybe we’ll catch up one day on the water
