Brian you guys need more wattage. New panels produce a lot more wattage then older panels. You can get 400-500 watts from 1 panel.

I aim to set sail within two years and want to have a yacht similar in size to Delos and fitted with a/c, heat, HW, water maker, microwave, washing machine and electric cooker… and maybe one day an electric motor.

Hey Brian, nice presentation are you using lithium batteries for engine start up ?
And both wind and solar tech is making leaps and bounds annually. There are wind turbines as big as 25kwh that only need 3-5mph to start and produce their full rated output at as low as 18-20mph winds. Obviously something that large is both size and cost prohibitive on a sailboat your size. But a couple 2.5-5kwh VAWT(vertical axis wind turbine)systems as small as they are getting, mounted to both sides of your mast just below the spreaders are potentially doable. Even if to figure 1/4 the max output of 2, 5kw/h turbines that would be 2.5 kilowatts per hour. Times 24 that is 60 kilowatts and at 96v to as much as 320 volts vs 12-48v out of your current turbines.
I think I'm the next 5 years or so the technology will be there to make current sailing yachts fully electric and capable of round the clock motoring at hull speed. Will it be affordable? No way. The ultra wealthy gotta get that huge return on their investments in lithium mines & refineries, & battery chip, and electronics manufacturers. But some small 1 off companies are defying the narrative and building Cross Cell Vehicles and Hydrogen Powered or Hydrogen Cell Vehicles for Market now. Nissan has recognized that and said that Lithium powered electric vehicles are not the right path for a cleaner world, and said they are investing into Hydrogen other Electrolyte batteries, and Solid State Battery Research. At some point the other Major Automobile Manufacturers will have to play catch up with Nissan or push battery companies to drop prices. Otherwise Nissan and anyone who does follow suit will corner the market with cheaper vehicle alternatives.
I have 4-7 years with my 3 dogs before I am ready to sell my home and properties and make the move to a boat to follow in your footsteps and lose the itinerary, the watch, and to travel, abandoning the dog eat dog rat race this "civilized 1st world" has become. I'm keeping my eyes on emerging technology with the hopes by then it is affordable for me to buy a gently loved yacht and refit it as a fully self sufficient power plant with an electric motor that can reach hull speed and a bank that can run the motor and air conditioning. I'm not holding my breath lol. Just remaining hopeful.
