I think your nuts.I’ve gone without seeing land for a month,a few times. I was a commercial fisherman. I’m not a sailor yet. I just payed off a Spencer 35.As soon as I have the time, and my boat is ready.I’m gone.My experience. I think it’s more dangerous on shore.Off shore,I’ve seen 100 mile an hour winds. I would never want to see that close to shore. There are just more dangers close to shore. If the boat is ready. And you can handle her,go.Time is the one thing we don’t have enough of
Being injected, I will definitely take a crew along for your future. Like it or not, the info is overwhelming, your health is being compromised. Bless your heart mate!
I think knowing your boat is the most important thing. You have to be self sufficient.Anchoring and navigating the coast is some of the biggest dangers.Tides and currents really matter in shore ,off shore you don’t worry so much. And you don’t see as many logs and hazards
Hi Lowell. I wondered what was happening as I was waiting in Okinawa for you. Glad to hear you made the safest and most correct choice. Solo sailing is a completely different ballgame than having even 1 extra crew member as all decisions are completely on you. You are correct about that as well. You'll know when you are ready, or not. Just take your time and push your boundaries a little more each time you start feeling comfortable. Safety is everything. Gambatte!
If you're looking for crew next Spring, I may be there!
loving the snappy intro and epic drone shots of wahine!
It will help if you provide a link to the history channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5euzqv6l6Xk
The farther you go off shore the less both the boat traffic and debris in the water.
smart choices my man
I am in the area around Kobe. If you need a hand in the future contact me (shouldn’t be hard to find me) and we can talk about it.
