1. I am so glad you addressed that particular comment Nick, I too was annoyed by it but not my place to express it, I am looking forward to splash day when we can get back to sailing but I do appreciate the build phase of RR2 because it will enhance my enjoyment of the sailing all the more when I understand what is going on and the reason for sailing decisions. I love the idea that ALittleCLAIREification made suggesting Tyresa put in a cameo in your videos … We do miss you Tyresa, Nick is OK but Tyresa adds a touch of class!!😉… Really, Nick is more than OK but we don't want him to get a big head!!. Stay Safe & Fair Winds!!

  2. I saw the catches in the cabin cabinets. Were they plastic or metal? We've been thinking of using the same ones on our boat, but wondering if the extra cost for metal is worth it or if the plastic ones will be durable enough for ocean cruisers. Love your channel BTW. We're about the same stage as you on our boat build in Thailand. Lots of common experiences at the moment. 😁

  3. Being a motor rider I must ask you, during your discussion of the "click-bait" poster, where were you riding? From the camera angle, it appeared to be a separate motorcycle-only lane, mostly separated from the motorway by that short, concrete knee wall but it wasn't present all the time.

Thank you for taking us along with you on this build. It is fascinating to watch from beginning to final testing.

  4. I spent many of my working years in the business of construction project planning, and time and again, I had to explain to critics that construction, by its very nature, is nearly always an exercise in the building of a prototype. It is only when you have consistent repetition that a manufacturer can give a truly accurate forecast of the completion of a task.
I remember my boss asking angry clients, who were upset that their building would be a couple of months late in completion, if they knew how far behind schedule the Eiffel tower (or the Pyramids or St Peter's Basilica in Rome) were. The answer to this rhetorical question was, of course, 'No' Why? Because, once projects are completed, it is not the delays that are the most important thing – it is the quality of the finished product.
Seawind seem to be doing an admirable job of managing a very complex process in very uncertain times. I expect that with the completion of the first 2 or 3 of these cats, they will be able to give realistic completion dates for all future boats. And they will be beautiful!

  5. Whats with all this begging patreon nonsense. These people are clearly well off and can afford these luxurious lifestyles. Its like the local businessman showing off his new mansion and then asking for donations……lol……''To support the work' ofcourse.
    Give me a break ffs.

  6. I love the fact that Seawind is allowing you such great access.
Of course it is good for promoting their brand and products – but the fact that they allow your honest reviews of things to be published is a real testament to them.
Also a testament to Seawind, is the fact that they are "soooo" particular about the little things.
It's all about the "right" attitude to your brand, your professionalism, your tradesmanship and ultimately is a compliment to the customer, too – for choosing awesomeness / excellence over a cheaper / quicker built alternative.

And lastly – a VERY big thanks to you and Terysa for sharing it all with us. It's a real adventure for me to be a part of your lives!

  7. Sorry about the extra post – and I know you have mentioned it before – but I havce forgotten – as you walk around and I notice the headroom – how tall are you, please?
    Thanks!

  8. why the f would you neg comment on this project , they (owners and builders) are obviously going flat out ,n&t are right there on site .how could it be faff. If you havnt built a new one from scratch yourself then STFU

  9. Hey Nick, quick question regarding the battery boxes and bays. I don’t know if I watched or read that some boat had the ability to flood the battery bay in case of thermal runaway? Don’t know if this is employed by anyone yet with the recent advances to Lithium batteries, but wouldn’t that be a better thing to flood to extinguish a runaway than to destroy the entire boat due to halons inability to put out a battery fire or flare up? I think I’d sign up for that modification in a second, cheers Doug on the left coast of Canada

  10. I'm loving this build series. The more about the construction the better. However, can you tell us how, at the end of the build process, you transport a 45" x 26" catamaran from the factory to the water? It surely must be too big, in terms of width, to go on the road. Is the factory near the river?

  11. I am involved in Naval Ship Building and have been for almost 40 years and can assure you that there are no two naval ships of the same class that are absolutely identical, no matter how many are built! So for a yacht manufacturer to strive for perfection with each yacht built in the same class is highly unusual and commendable at the same time! 🙂

  12. Firstly, I never mentioned the 1260 at all. Don't put words in my mouth please Nick.
Secondly, most of your little sycophants who came to your rescue showed the type of people they really are by leaving personally insulting messages rather than debating what I actually wrote. People who get like that just because someone has a differing opinion to them are not right about anything.
I still maintain that what I wrote is true and if I could be bothered, I'd go back and find the countless times it was already discussed in previous videos.
No need for anyone to get nasty about it

  13. Dam this is the slowest build in the world stop making excuses for them & get it finished. The HH’s are built way quicker & are more custom.
Have you thought about stop wasting their time so they can finish

  14. I understand that you are showing Hull 1 because it has to be complete before the next hulls can be built. And Hull 1 shows everything that needs to be done for the subsequent hulls. But the thing you are not talking about is how completing steps for Hull 1 affects the timetable for completing your boat.

  15. Have you had the Cat6 cabling discussion for lighting yet? Cat6 (for lighting) can save (literally) a ton of expensive and heavy 14-2 AC copper wiring. And, on noticing the small windows in the master bedrooms of this Hull 1, have you looked at the bedroom windows for Windelo 54 and HH44? Oceans larger and a big lift in comfort for a small shift in hull shape. The Windelo is too much to ask at this point but the HH44 3-fold size increase in rear-facing bedroom window(s) is easily accomplished I think (now is the last chance as I've mentioned this improvement once before).

  16. Nick. It is not only boat building that has problems going from design to construction, but every build from residential housing to large commercial and industrial builds have the some/many problems along the design/build process. Part of life, so any negative commentators need to take a look around.

  17. Really enjoying the "build" videos, very informative and educational. As for the negative commenter, "Bolstering lack of knowledge with a louder voice" used to be the purview of politicians…too bad it's spreading to the general population! Keep up the good work.

  18. I used to work for a car company as a production engineer in the early 80s; often working on new concept vehicles I can confirm that it takes numerous trial builds before a build process is released to production. I acknowledge that in more modern times that design software is light years ahead of where we drew by hand on blueprints, but there is still the stage from plans to actual materials and process; even given that they already produce similar models. There is an added complication in that each build is bespoke in some way or another. Seawind is being amazingly transparent allowing you to release their new production line to public view. For me, that shows their dedication to ensuring that they get everything right in the builds. They will see less and less re-work as they progress through the hull numbers.
