So happy to see you back and know you are ok and continuing your journey with us in tow. Sorry for your loss but glad to have the footage you have gathered from Calico Skies❤
Welcome back! So sorry about the hard drive! Please stay strong. We are all behind you. You channel is the real deal. You will be fine. Thank you and we really missed you.
Hope Gary has no long term ill-effects from Covid. It is not over.
Bummer, but great to see you bouncing back plus you keep all those memories with family for yourselves. Stay well and safe travels!
Good thing you guys were traveling together so you could at least get some memories captured.
Technology is nice but can be so frustrating in times like this.
I think you guys did a great job on the video, cannot wait to see the second part.
As soon as you make videos, copy the footage to a second hard drive, and put that in a ziploc bag with a desiccant packet. This way, you have two separate drives in separate bags…the one you work on, and the archive.
Great episode! The milky way shot is Epic! Merry Christmas too you. <3 😉
Don't throw it away. if you get close to Africa you will find some guy that will do it. talking from experience keep it you never know.
Noooooo, oh I am so sorry you lost all your data, that's heartbreaking. Glad you were able to get some footage together for an episode, love it. Awesome wake-boarding. I have now caught up, having binge watched all your episodes over the last few days. I really enjoyed them and no doubt will continue to do so. You guys rock! Your enthusiasm, dedication and resilience are truly inspiring. I am so glad to have come across your channel. Hang in there guy's. Wishing you both a very Merry Christmas 🙂 x
Great job getting a video together.
You were in Charlotte? I live here and would have loved to have bought you two dinner or something. My wife needs to hear how awesome the sailing life is.
Great job on this video incorporating footage provided by your buddy boats!
♥️♥️🥰🥰
that's a really tough break, glad you were able to recover something to share with us.
Nice job
I literally binge watched alllll your vids. One of the best sailing channels on youtube. Glad you guys are back.
That’s a bummer about your video footage. I’ve know John and Sandy since high school. Glad they had fun with you!
What a bummer to have lost so much footage… As a viewer it's disappointing, but I'm sure not nearly as disappointing as it is for you. We'll all get by just knowing you are safe and still sailing with your buddy boats and knowing that more great footage will follow. I'm mostly saddened for you losing your family footage, which is much more a personal loss than one for all your viewers… Glad Delos and Calico Skies were able to help you fill in the gaps for everyone, but we can't go back and fix the past so now it's on to the present and future videos and I'll be here like all your other followers, waiting with baited breath for then next installment!!

FLORIDA 🏖️⛱️💯
Love watching you guys you're the best
So Learn the Lesson! Multiple copies of everything and that includes the all important PC!
gary is always smiling no matter what that's rare today buddy
try another place REALLY TRY ANOTHER PLACE I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM I GOT IT DONE
Lovely people thanks for the reply!
As a computer expert with over 60 years' experience, I find that those people who get into trouble just did not think that hard drives and PCs are not infallible and live to regret it. When is a back-up not a back-up?
When you only have one of it and that copy is on another hard drive!
Ouch…Very sorry to hear it.
Is your home base in Charlotte?are either of you from Charlotte? Asking because I’m from Charlotte!! Great to see you back !!
Fair winds ⛵️
What TYPE of drives are you using? How do you store it in the boat? And then there is the el-systemproblem : )
Great video even though you didn't have your A footage! I have to say, I was super nervous flying back to the US with the hard drive that Delos and Calico put together for you guys. I was so worried that something would happen to it. It was a huge relief to hand it over to Gary. I'm hoping to see you guys next month in PP. Much love until then.
I've recovered files using Diskdigger. And it's free.
RAID – redundant array of independent disks. Everything is being backed up automatically – moment by moment. If a drive fails you've got a duplicate. Plug in the replacement drive and your good drive automatically copies to it and your up and running again. Cost is minimal – keep a spare available.
I’m glad to see you guys back on track, and ready to sail again. Thanks for the great videos!
ShouldaCoulda used LINUX which can recover every byte not destroyed by a scratch (bouncing heads). Then you just have to stick segments togiether to rebuild the videos…tedious but not rocket science. Kinda like a 2-5 day editing sesh. Stick to soild state drives (USB THUMB DRIVES) w/ multiple backups or suffer kiddos.
