  1. Lexi is amazing. Great relationship as his work is now able to be seen by all your subscribers to appreciate!!! and you get to follow your build closely!!! AMAZING Technology. Never knew Steel was such a good option.

  2. My wife and I used to love your channel, it was was fun and entertaining. But since you ordered your bering yacht you have become an ongoing commercial for Bering Yachts. It seems like you you are now swing on their vine and have become a complete sellout. Can't stand to watch anymore.

  3. Great series guys, love the explanations. Could you ask Alexi two questions? Can he explain the 24m rule and how Bering apply that to boats around that length, ie their 80 with a LOA of 26.2m. Also can he discuss if Bering makes allowances for live aboard owners without crew and if that is possible up to the 80. Thanks!

  4. Thank you so,so much for having an expert for many years building, supervisor watching workers. The Layering is amazing for steel. Then SHOWING a vessel in water for "10" years, looks just like the sample board. WOW. This is a BIG part of COSTS of these great super yachts being built. I like his explaining why say Coast Guard vessels are made of Aluminum instead of STEEL. The smaller fast Patrol vessels. The FACTS on why you don't make a smaller vessel out of Steel. I remember going and seeing a surplus US Navy Torpedo Retriever, it was made in 1966 on plackerd in pilot House. The Hull was made of wood with Steel areas on Decks. I got to go on brand new Torpedoe Retrieve at ( Fair Winds Test Range base) in Canada. They have open house to public every 2 years. ( Pre COVID)
The New US Navy vessels are Made of Aluminum. ( This is a Joint Test Range) The Canadian (sound vessels) they listen with sonar on one, to follow Torpedoes test Runs (all NEW Torpedoes) are TESTED in water. The second Canadian (sound) vessel had a boom on back for (looks like a big Torpedo) this makes noise like a sub would make. The Canadian vessels can go all QUIET with Electric motors. The Canadian vessels where made of STEEL. Very heavy duty looking vessels. The Pilot houses on the 2 Canadian vessels you would Die for to see, Thay have massive control station on each side of Bridge. Inside Pilot House. There is also a (YTT) US Navy vessel there to pick up LOST torpedo OFF bottom. It has high tech (ROV) and clam bucket with a sand blaster, for moving sand away on bottom around LOST Torpedoes.
The Base uses a Small Helicopter with big Net, to Retrieve the surface finished run Torpedoes
The Pilot has the MOST hours of any Pilot Retrieveing Torpedoes in NET. He fly's them back to work yard at the DOCK. There is a big soft made Landing square, to Land Torpedoes with NET.

  5. Use dye penetrant instead of kerosene. They should have their own certified welding inspector, with endorsements, to keep their welders up to date and for quality control.

  7. I think it's great that this producer anyway, can offer a first quality 20 meter, commercial cruiser with 200 sq.m. of floorspace, and more fittings, power and communications etc, etc, than one would ever encounter in a home, for what is comparably a bargain in relation to an, for instance, oceanfront home in Florida or California. And the operational costs of energy, berthing, and insurance are also comparable to those of a home once property taxes are included. Particularly when one tours the engiine room and pilot house, the sophistication of a yacht like this is exceptional to what homes have. We don't see the extreme inflated prices affecting real estate driving yacht prices ever-higher.

  8. Steel rocks , Strength , Lightning , Aluminum problems are corrosion & welds are weak . on steel boats the place to look is the bilges for rust . Steel welds are stronger than the parent metal .

  9. Q for Alexi: how do they check Cold Embrittlement on each batch/poured/forged sheet (assuming different batches or lots from the foundry) and the welds on their hulls? Is it only done on the ice-rated hulls?

  10. Alexi knows his stuff. Also good on him for being a patient expert (the person interviewing is a bit annoying) he is good at explaining, and freely sharing his knowledge and experience. Man has an open mind.
