Hi TIm, I am embarrassed to say this, but I have been watching your videos pretty much from the beginning, on my smart TV. No option to "Like & Subscribe" Having moved onboard my Kalik 44 getting ready to head out this spring, I felt compelled to at least subscribe. Crusing kitty is a bit skinny, so I may have to wait to send some cash your way.
How about another classic Robert Perry design – the Valiant 40. In the sub-40' class I love the Pacific Seacraft 37. Wonderful boat and an excellent passage maker.

Hunter legend 40 took me by surprise!
I had a Hunter 31 years ago. a real cheap production boat. Functional but I wouldn't want to be in a storm. I wouldn't get a Hunter of any kind again.
I sailed a Morgan 382 from Seattle to La Paz MX – lived on it for 7 years. Wonderful boat, good sailor.

Though I agree with your assessment of the boats you showed, especially the Island Packet and the Passport, I would not call those the "Top Five" 40 footers (42ft). The Endeavour 42 would be a boat to be considered in this range. $2 ft, 26,000 Lbs, Spacious & Luxurious Interior. Another 40 FT boat would be the Cabo Rico, "nough said". I am hoping you were not implying that these are the best 40 FT class boats over all others. I assume what you were conveying these are the best you see available now in their own classes.
My family had a 42 ft. Christ Craft when I was a kid. Dad had a plaque on the bull head that read. Definition of a boat……it a hole in the water you through money into! LOL!!

I was wondering if properly fit, can handle an Atlantic passage via Grenada to Cape Verde.
As a small point, the Passport 41 is a rare (9 made) variant of the 40. It features a sugar scoop instead of a conventional transom and a taller rig. I would be more than happy to have either donated to me. PM if interested.
