  1. Good to see you all get going on the Dauntless II retrofit!! I think Ty is a consummate tool user of both left and right-handed tools 🤣

  2. Southpaw👍Cheering for a Milwaukee sponsorship. Wire webbing, heat shrink, and quality insulated terminals applied with the proper tool. 👏👏👏 Excellent!

  3. Being left handed can be a challenge at times. You either have to get stuff that is made specifically for lefties or adapt to how the rest of the world does things. For my self I learned to play guitar right handed but I still "air guitar" left handed. I have since tried to play a left handed guitar but haven't managed to make things work the other way round.

Nice to see that work is picking up pace on the 50. Tough loss on those batteries though. Are you going to be getting replacements or just sticking with what you have? I know they aren't cheep but with out them how bad is it for you and what you will be needing power for?

  4. Hope that this deck light is strong enough. Maybe you should install this combo unit on lower spot because if you want to add any additional gear under combo it will be just in front of deck light

  5. Shouldn't you have used the lower hole in mast for that deck light that now will be blocked by anything you might Install on other wire hole that will now be under it?

  6. Always look forward to Dauntless Family content! Though I'm curious about one thing: did he install the combo deck light/steaming light with the deck light pointing at the sky? Or did I miss something?

  7. I know it is too late but put deck lighting on lower wire lead. Also put a video camera where you can view coral heads as you sail and check rig chafe! Massive time saver. Luv your channel.

  8. SV Money Pit! Just kidding. Uhh things are changing in the boat world! More interesting kits available! With all the time and effort I rather go with a big cat kit!!

  9. Lefty’s are always Right minded !

Here’s a question… why are you wearing your watch on your left hand ? I did it for years, then my Wife bought me a Lefty watch ! Wow what difference…

  10. I feel like the deck light is going to cast a hailer sized shadow onto your deck, if you add end up adding one. Shouldn't the deck light go closest to the deck?

  11. They make a self centring centre punch that you put in the screw hole and activate and punches for you and that allows you to do all the holes very well centred and reduce deviations. I have one made by Starrett I use for my millwrighting but I am sure there is china knockoffs that are very cheap.

  12. To let you know a direct lighting strike will still fry as many electronics, with or without lightning protection. When you buy a lighting system ask them if they will pay for any electronics if its fried from lightning. They will tell you no and that is because they know it doesn't do anything except make them money. nothing can stop 1 plus million amps from going where it wants to on a boat. Even super yachts can not handle a lightning strike without frying electronics. The only way to help is have 2 separate systems where most are not on the same circuit as your VHF/Wind/radar and anchor light are on. Those things you know will fry. lightning can jump a foot easy.

  13. Both companies should sponsor you! Q: The mast light, no sealant? And the lower holes for the future Deck light that’s brighter and has better coverage! Just use a grommet till then! Loving the series tho! Safety Squints for the win

  14. Many great people were left-handed even me 🤪🤪, but also Chopin, Charlie Chaplin, Julius Caesar, Rembrand, Rubens, , Di Caprio. And now you also. Join the club my friend
    👍👍🍻🍻

  15. With the Wire Protector sheathing (25:30) if you cut it with a hot knife (for cutting ropes) or with a heat gun just after cutting it normally on the very end, it melts some of the threads of the sheathing together and will then not fray but you can spread them to still stretch the sheath over the wires.

  16. Luv watching US channels use Milwaukee tools like they are everyday backyard tools. Not in Oz. Be curious what everyone else pays for the 12v rivet tool. Costs us $383AU tool only . LOL.

  17. Just as a tip if you get some plastic tube and cut it so the drill bit only goes into the Mast at the depth of the Aluminium your drilling as a Drill stop :).

  18. Ty..great install. Personally, I am not impressed with the steaming/deck light combo. We will see what you think when changing headsails on a dark passage. I also wish the radar didn't have to be forward of the mast. I assume the issue is a mast shadow in the radar sweep? Given the radar has to be there, I would run a direct bury (heavy jacket) cat 6 ethernet cable up to that extra hole for a POE camera. Great for narrow channels, reefs and moorings.

  19. Great vid But Pls you Have all the latest and best tools ,,,,,,,,Pls buy a electronic Hot Air Gun to shrink the Heat shrink
as a Avo engineer on A/C I do recommend. Espically when your teaching U tube people
    No disrepect meant
    Cheers
    Tim

  20. I hope you don't mind a couple of observations. A, you did a good job on connecting the deck/steam light, but why didn't you use tinned cable?. B, if you use something in the lower hole just beneath the deck light isn't if going to block the light. Great content and have followed this build from the start and must say you did a great job on the hulls.

  21. I’m a lefty and proud of it. Everybody gives me crap all the time. I work in the construction trade and it was absolutely hilarious. About two weeks ago. A friend of mine. That is a Milwaukee fan boy which I am as well but he wanted to get the new Worm gear circular saw, and I guess he didn’t realize it until he got it. That is actually a left handed saw and I think it’s soon to be mine because he can’t stand being right handed.

  22. OK…whomever had the hat & glasses on that was rude enough to tell the camera person 'stop talking' needs to stop talking and learn some manners. Dont care if was the dad, husband, brother of the camera person. THEY need manners taught to them asap.

  23. I with you about the left handed. I've been left handed for over 82 years. Have used the same left handed hammer you have and several other 😂. Good thing about the one you used is that you were using it the US size, if you turn the cutter side around it will be metric hammer. 😂

  24. You need to deburr the holes before installing the rivets. Otherwise the rivets will not get a good grip and work themselves loose over time.
