Now things start to happen. I was thinking about the load. The hull will be quite heavy. Even with washers it is a lot on a small area. Put a piece of 2×4 between the beam and the A frame bottom. A quick job, but then you can have elephants on the strongback. wood all the way down to the floor.
Are you going to the boat show in Gothenburg as well?
Love it ❤
I love how precise you are..it’s amazing what is involved. Blessings to you and stay safe and healthy 🥰⛵️⛵️⛵️
Glad to see you wearing hearing protection. You might also want to consider some type of eye protection also. Great progress.
I thought following your sailing was great but this is really great to watch, so interesting…. looking forward to the whole thing. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Do you follow 'Articseacamel" He is building a sailboat in Finland. He is also building the frames
Don't forget to use mylar packing tape on all of the mold surfaces that might contact epoxy if you want to remove them later.
Love the conehead references
This build is better than rebuilding an older wooden boat. You could spend as much time and money on a rebuild as this new boat. Any problem that I have ever had with all the boats that I built was in the boat the day it was launched. My dad worked for Huckins Yacht Corporation in 1946 and these wooden boats are still around today.
Wonderful progress and time out for Dusseldorf is a great idea. Take Vera to nearby Wuppertal and a ride on the Schweberbahn " claw railway"!
Thankyou 👍
Really impressive work!
Safety Glasses! Any time you are cutting metal, think of your eyes.
Pls consider if the strong bag is strong enough. One washer on 4 screws and two nails is supporting 3 meters af the entire hall. Consider vertical support under the wooden beam.
We enjoyed this Ep. so very much. I love seeing your plans take shape and the quality of your work. I appreciate your professionalism,…well done. Safe travels.
Why didn't the saw generate sparks?
Fantastic family, so nice seeing you working together ! Where have you learned everything? So impressive seeing multitalented people!
Awesome job! Looking forward to see the frames on their places 😊
Did you study. “Backyard Boatbuilding” by George Buehler? Very practical info and his strong opinions about what make a good and safe blue water sailboat.
I worked in Sweden during the 1980s and met many amazing Swedes and one evening passed within a few feet of the late Prime Minister, Olof Palme as we both walked home from work..
Other Western countries could benefit much from incorporating more Swedish thinking.
How will you get this boat out of the barn?
I recommend to temper the epo layers of the hull nonetheless, should You need to lamellate/glue essential boatparts in 3-5°C. We had sometimes a re-weakening/thermoplastification of strongly strained epo-lamellated "winterparts" in very hot weather the following warmer period.
A very thorough approach. The boat should be reliable, but you will build for a long time. Greetings from Russia.
Somehow I do not think you sent me a notification about an ongoing gift. I will be changing my password. Maybe you should as well.
It looks good and expensive
I have watched from the beginning sailing episodes. I'm so happy for you and this project. I'm saying hello from Arkansas USA. I'm an engineer, a luthier and woodworking enthusiast. Looking forward to the build, and I would like to suggest something. You need a shop kitty. Your viewers will love it!
Little trick I learned in construction. Use the side of the drill chuck against the nut as a driver to preposition the nut heights. Maybe next time.
Looks like everyone that posted is getting the scam post from TELEGRAM, so sad, good luck

The new Jeanneau 55 layout it looks cool and I think it uses the space well. See Links

Really enjoying this build series
Love this build series! 🙌
I have a question! How do you get-the boat hull out of your barn once it is finished?
Saab Grippen?
Love your adventure, your planning and hardwork. Would you please do me a favor? Each time you show the deer, could you post how many there are in the field. Just curious. Also…are they Red Deer? Thank you.
Hello,
I really appreciate your show and have watched the episodes of Ran II forward. As Canadians, one of our biggest national issues is Truth and Reconciliation with all our First Nations Peoples and the injustices that have endured. In honouring these people and the connection they have to the land, you might consider having some of the western red cedar saw dust returned to Haida Gwaii, the archipelago from which the cedar was harvested. I plan to do something similar with the cedar saw dust I collected while building my cedar strip canoe. I would love to talk to you about this if you wish.
Its fun to see the huge difference in scale of our two projects, but with some very similar boat building techniques!
Med vänliga hälsningar !
Really enjoyed the episode. Been here since the build started.. A bit here and there before , But. I'll be sticking around lord willing , till this boat hits the water and there after.. It's nice seeing others working on there dreams too.. It helps me get through my boat work. So thanks again for sharing your family's story.. Many blessings and take care
Hi Johan … may I ask, what is the make and model of the small hooka unit I saw a while back that you really liked?
better to use double nuts under the beams. if you want the beams stay leveled.
Brilliant! I love the projects you guys do and it's so great seeing the setup for the boat build. I love the fact that you have your own workshop tools. I am quite excited over the whole process and I'm not even there! Lol. Great vlog 🙂
Great episode…sorry I had to miss it this year 😪….My 4 most important BOOT observations/comments:
1. Great perms Malin! You look smashing👏❤️
2. John's face seating at Amel 500 helm – priceless
3. Portside chairs. I have them on my boat and they are great. Comfortable and convenient on both port side and starboard tacks!
Thank you for the episode.
PS. What was the brand of the synthetic teak on the first boat?
could someone please explain what a strongback is?
