Thanks for sharing. That harbor is beautiful. The boat looks great! Andy, agree the main looks worn and past it’s normal life span. That would be the first sail to replace in my opinion. A bit disappointed Captain Jack was so quiet. I would have expected him to be barking orders and ordering Keel Hauling of the lazy crew! Sail on Sailors!

Looks like that rear mast and sail isn’t a requirement and could be removed to make space for a solar arch and dingy lift just my thoughts for long term living as there isn’t much deck space aft

I got into cruiser racing from being a Fireball dinghy crew. Our club also had GP14s.
Your boat should be a really good handicap racer with the right crew in the right conditions. Hopefully you will get in some racing.

Great to see you on the water. If you were planning to be in cold climates for a lot of the time, I would suggest a hydronic heating system. They make very nice heat and only require the running of 3/4" hoses rather than 3" ducts. I have a system on my Catalina 30 that is based on an Espar 5000W hydronic boiler and three fan coils that give me thermostatic zoned heating plus domestic hot water. It is great in the chilly Pacific Northwest.
One other upgrade that you are probably already working on is to install a below deck autopilot. I see that Ocean Melody has an Raymarine wheel pilot and they just are not up the rigors of 24/7 offshore work.

The black marks on the masts are the limitations on how high you can hoist the sails on the mast ie the boats rating certificate (which it probably once had). For cruising, don’t worry about them but seems like the mizen and the headsail had too much halyard tension (while at the dock). Suggest a webbing close to the outhaul on the main as well before you rip the main off it’s boomslides.

Take a look at the log burner and installation @sailing cadoha. Along with a diesel heater. Good option for the main cabin and saves gas as can cook and boil water.

Definitely a Victory lap that one guys! Couldn't have done it in a more beautiful setting either. Noss Mayo or 'Mathew's Nose' was the atmospheric base for doing my Skipper's ticket 25 years ago so watching you glide in and out of the Yealm through that historic smugglers haunt was pretty magical for me too.
