I know this problem. I made a new rudder on my friend's yacht.
♥️♥️🥰🥰
Life is tough- and only the Tough survive it and prosper.
Taylor……you are a pretty tough cookie, girl! Everybody gets the BEATDOWN put on them from time to time, but getting back up and fighting it is what defines you! YOU ARE ONE TOUGH CHICK!
I first saw you when you were with Sailing Doodles. You sure have changed, hardened up, gained so much experience and knowledge. Keep at it; the lows will pass and fade and the sun will always shine again!😊
You have to fix those leaks, that's the type of stuff that can sink you. I hope you didn't use Bondo on your rudder?
Thanks so very much for subbing my channel – Hope you enjoy watching my videos – take care, Lance from Canada BUT currently traveling the USA
How did leak fix go Taylor??
Excellent perseverance and emergency repair job!
Nice job with the rudder fix. Fair winds.
Did you check the steering shaft on the rudder to see if it was straight and true ?i know you guys were pushed for time Astraight rudder shaft will reduce leaking.
I think it turned out really well.
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought "uh oh". But you handled it gracefully and took on the project yourselves. That, and this video, are impressive and the most honest solo on camera explanation I've seen in a long time. Congrats on the fix to get you to haul out.
I wonder if the boat manufacturer reduced the rudder draft appropriately for the shoal wing keel. Rudder grounding may not have been a problem with a deeper keel to protect it.
Great work on the speedy repair! I'm confident you will make it to Grenada. Fair winds and following seas.
Hi TaylorHope you are fine and not having many problems.
I am English now aged 76 and my wife who I met online is Brasilian. I met her accidentally online back in 2002 and because we both liked guitars, had instant attraction. I saved money 4 months and took a flight to Brasil. At 0100 am time, her time was 0500 I phoned her and said I am coming to Brasil to meet you…I am not joking. 12 hrs later via Amsterdam I met her in Sao Paulo Airport with her 21 yrs old daughter….after 2 weeks I returned to my job. One month later she phoned saying she was coming to Wales. She stayed 3 months. Her last day I took her to a Castle and over a coffee proposed to her….bingo. She returned Brasil for 7 mnths and then returned Xmas 2003. We married Feb 14th Valentines day, 2004 in a small Registery Office. In the service she said, " I know of no lawful reason why I Virginia should not take you David to JOIN in holy matrimony." But she said as she was so nervous. I know of no legal reason why I Virginia shouldn't ENJOY you David.. I replied you can enjoy me later…..everyone laughed too much. She realized what she had said. I now live Brasil since 2008 and we travel like teenagers, cruiseships, mainly schooners & launches whatever, everyday we just go and have fun, we don't stay home watching TV like old age pensioners….we live same as you are doing. God speed Taylor, stay safe. I am on Fb and YT. David & Virginia's Adventures & Sailing Schooners.Tchau, stay safe, hugs n kisses David & Virginia
Well you certainly have had some big challenges. That being said you got it done regardless. Honestly you are due for some good luck, but as you know you have to make some luck. That being said well done. Keep up the good work and you will get there.
I haven’t seen your videos for a while, but now I see you with lost weight and a little discouraged! Remember Taylor that you have created a lifestyle that most of us dream about! So don't worry and be happy 😂❤
Good enough is the enemy of perfection. Good enough is good enough. Be safe.
I hope you named your rudder "Frankenstein". Well done!
That survey basically said they weren't responsible for anything!
Having documentation onboard which references the previous name of the boat is bad luck, coincidence 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Didn’t Bobby help you buy the boat! Maybe he wanted his first mate back
GOOD JOB!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💥⛵
(and very very veeeery Lucky) ✌🏻😉
¡Buenos vientos! 🌬️
Don’t quit,Taylor. Hang tough! You can do it
MUDDER FUDDER!
I thought delamination as soon as you showed the rudder out of the water. If I may ask, and without pointing fingers, how did the survey report from 2002 not come to light until now? Just curious. I hope to be able to cruise someday so trying to learn as much as I can about these kind of pitfalls.
I did a brew pub called boondoggles brew pub and pizzeria down here in El Lago Texas.
Life is just one damn thing after another. Being “over it” really isn’t an option. Nice job of making it work.👍
Success is a mindset. Without a successful mindset you will never be successful. I just learnt this a week ago
