Even after having been around nieces and nephews from an early age, the immense responsibility of being the parent made me feel very inadequate, as it does many new parents. You're not! You and Jordan have the skills (and supportive, loving relationship) to be excellent parents. The thing that struck me the most when becoming a father was the intense love I felt for each of my children right after they were born. I had deeply loved others before, but this love was just different. I later heard it described in a way I think is very appropriate–becoming a parent is the first time a piece of your heart lives outside of your body. I wish both of you the best in your new roles. It's a lot of work and worry, but worth every second of it.
