  1. It’s called sea smoke…water temp is warmer than the air temp. We get it so dense here on the Great Lakes that you can’t see through it! Happens especially in the winter before the lake freezes.

  2. One more comment. There are sharks in the Med, around 40-50 species, some Great whites even! They aren’t common but around 100 attacks has been reported since the early 19-hundreds, especially in the Adriatics. There was sightings of shark on a Mallorcan beach around 5 years ago. Just saying…!😂

  3. The steam on the water?? That be Captain Jack in the Black Pearl coming to give ye a thumbs up ! OR it be Advection Fog Aye that what it be.. Advection fog or even Radiation fog but fog it be. ARRR !

  4. 24:14 With an opening scene of mist and ending with caves and dragons I thought surely this dragon's name was Puff, Puff the Magic Dragon who as we know "lived by the sea… and frolicked in the autumn mist," and who in the end "sadly slipped into his cave." Puff would travel with his friend "on a boat with billowed sails." Back in the day, "Puff" had it's own meaning to a lot of people, and you guys during that rock climbing adventure it seems were trying real hard to get high! Ha, ha!

  5. I love how you two just keep smiling and keeping me smiling every time that I tune you in. it is always a our joy to see you each time. Keep loving and enjoying each other and your friends.

  6. The surface fog is present on some sections of the Erie Canal, especially in the spring and fall. It's got something to do with dew point, wind, and air/water temps.

  7. As a kid, I visited the Speedwell cavern in England – boat tour in a cave, propelled by the guide pushing on the ceiling with his feet!

The names of the pointy things, as he taught us, were "stalaCtite" on the Ceiling and "stalaGmite" on the Ground. See what he did there?

Dan's "stalaGtite" is going to outrage all kinds of people. I hope he'll think of a proper penance!

  8. Love your friend Terri `s hatitude and surfin style and laughter really adorable amazing rock climb guys .The cave exploration and narration was awesome all the visual aspect is awesome too watch .thanks !!!…👍❤❤

  9. Hi Kika and Dan, neat scenes in those caves and your ever-loving rock climbing. Your gal companion has the longest shapely legs I've ever seen. Being a guy I notice that. Well thanks again and catch you next time, by now.

  10. I would imagine it is the same reason fog forms – dew point, humidity and ambient temperature.
    Greek to me.
"Lift the sails and shift the tales" – love it.
I remember being taken water skiing by the locals after I moved to Key Biscayne in junior high – they told me to give a thumbs up once I was vertical – they would then hammer the throttle pulling me right out of my skis – it took me quite a while to realize I should LET GO OF THE SKI ROPE – a good time was had by all, especially the local boys.

  11. Try the Blue Grotto , that is a nice cave where only 4 people go in a boat but one has to lie down when entering or leaving the cave with the sunshine into the water turns the water inside bright blue!

  12. I personally like the tour caves. You can getr the best info from the guides. But exploring on your own is also great. Nope!!! Ill stick with the guides. Lol

  13. 0:23 I'm not a steamologist either, so a physicist will have to do lol

Water, as Kika already said, stays warmer for longer than land, because it can hold on to thermal energy very well. The water now heats up a thin layer of air right above the surface. Since the water is comparatively warm, some water will evaporate into this thin layer. The air above land does not get heated from below, so as soon as the sun sets it will cool down. Cold air beeing more dense it tries to get as low as possible, slowly making its way to the sea. Here the cold "land"-air and the warm moist "sea"-air mix together. The cold air however can't hold on to water as well as warm air, so the water condensates, forming the steam just above the surface.

  14. Rock climbing looks like such an adventurous challenge! You guys make it look waaaay easier than I'm sure it truly is. Love the idea of caves and that you have shared your different experiences when it comes to that subject! And so sweet to celebrate your friends 5 years of climbing!

  15. I am always envious when I watch you unfurl the jib. If I unfurled mine that fast, I would often get a furling line override on the drum. Then it is locked up when I try to re-furl.
