They should pay YOU to take the boat.
oh man what an interesting project, but what a money pit, i suppose you could invest 2k to buy ( although the owner really should be paying you)2k on yard fee to lift out and a few weeks storage,, then 25 euro,s on petrol if it turns out a lost cause, at end of day it doesn't look the most practical live aboard, unless you sail mainly in hot climates, but respect to you for even considering, what ever i will be watching but 1 year to get her back to something usable, maybe 2 years
Run away
Stay away there is not cheap reliable boat.
I know I have one for 20 years
One advice keep your dream go to wok for 2 years save money and get a boat with few work to do she will take you around the world safely
Stay away from these type of boat
Please
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It would have to be free
Flippin eck. We've told you EVERYTHING we know and you still know NOTHING!
Sorry It become so ridiculous now that I have to unsubscribe sorry and good luck to you but please have a boat that can keep you safe
You really are a die hard wharram lover ,I say go for it ,why shouldn't you experience the joy of a blank canvas .
all it needs a good pressure washing and a good sponging out of the inner bits
No my friend it’s a money pit and a broken dream.Stay miles away plz
Being myself a boat builder in Canada, I think you should increase your initial budget. Honestly, a "deal" doesn't exist. You always get what you pay for. Stop thinking about the purchase price and focus on the final price at the launch, I mean, the reconstruction materials, your time, the rental of the marina with electricity and heating, all that quickly adds up the final price. I think you've already forgotten how unpleasant it is to grind fiberglass…but hey, it's your choice. You have to ask yourself if you prefer to sail, or build a boat. If it's building, then do good and build a beautiful, brand new Wharram…it'll be faster, better, and more importantly, more satisfying. But if you prefer sailing, then find yourself a good job for a few years, and then buy yourself a good boat. I learned over time that a good boat costs a certain price. Good luck!
Don't buy a wreck…
Please don't! This one is much worse than the 1st catamaran.
Well Mark, it's worked!! The number of (mostly negative) comments are surely making money for you! You are definately taking the wee wee looking at stuff like this, and it could well backfire on you with people turning off your channel. There is no way you could renovate that boat, especially with the 90 day rule since Brexit. So go on, I dare you, buy it and prove us all wrong!
“The beams all look pretty good!” What have you been smoking?
It appears that you actually do not want to buy a boat, you just enjoy looking at derelict hulls and poking around on rotten wood. When you get ready to buy another Cat, find yourself a Prout. Roland and Francis built good boats and many go for a very fair price. In 2005 we bought a Quasar for under $100,000, did a $50,000 refit and sold it for $250,000. We have had several Snowgoose through the boat yard that sold for under $75,000. They were solid, ready to cross oceans Catamarans. The only disadvantage we found with the smaller Prouts is the single engine. I love the movability of a pari of engines with the screws way out in the pontoons.
Mark, run away……that will cost more to repair than it will ever be worth. Not worth it for free even
your dreem boat locks a bit like my horror dreems
All I can say is good luck and I honestly think you're going to need it.
If you pay 2k for that you've over paid but if it's what you want then go for it, if nothing else it will be a good life lesson.
I think that yes you could do it but your thoughts on getting it done in a year are very optimistic especially when you consider you're looking for volunteers to do a lot of the work with you…
Get the boat back to Millbrook 👍
This coud be the perfect boat for Mark if he gets it for a very low price. He will have job for more than a year and he will be able to make a lot of interesting videos. He has already now a lot of subscriberas and viewers and I am quite sure that he will be able to increase thoose numbers with such a project. But of course there is also a budget to care about and therefor the start has to be with a low price for the boat. And as can be seen from this video it will cost a lot to finish this project. And dont forget his father who seems to be an expert in everything. I wish you good luck Mark ang go ahead, I am waiting to see the next and the next.
This is painful. Get a professional to do the survey. You pointed to the main bulkhead where it joins the hull and said it was rotten and needed to be replaced. That's when a wooden boat is simply finished. This isn't fiberglass where you replace a ply bulkhead and tab it to the hull. This boat is wood, likely also rotted, where the bulkhead joins the boat. Rot there is simply better repaired by just building a new boat. And I don't mean prim and proper better repaired. I mean MONEY, TIME, and ending up with something that may actually be a seaworthy boat. You would be better off just buying some used plans and starting from scratch. You would be WAY better off by getting a modest, SEAWORTHY, COMPLETE boat and making more money while gaining more experience. It doesn't matter when this wreck was built or how good it may have been or any of that nonsense. What matters is what is is now. There are lots of good people in the world and easy to make new friends. But people won't come to help if it looks like failure.
You are showing us an ex boat. It's off the perch. It is no more. It is bereft of life and rests in peace. It is a DISPOSAL FEE.
The best part of that boat was the mast
I think this project looks great fun! Only concern is that one of the reasons why you didn't get the Costa Rica boat was because you would have problem in marinas given its size. Surely this boat would have the same problem? Anyway you want what you want and it's obvious that you want a wharram so if the price is right then go for it.
Mark. Where are the winches? Where are the electronics? Where is the head? Berths? Sails? WTF.All that stuff costs money. Not wishes or some ridiculous sense of hard work. MONEY. So compare the money to buy new stuff for this boat to ALREADY COMPLETE boats.
I'm seeing the same people around you from when you made another VERY bad material decision. This is nuts.
yeah keep on dreaming how you sit on the wide Deck under sail in the south , you can make it ! And you will produce a lot of boat refit videos and you will have helping hands and more funds and a great location with good Greens !
Hello I'm kinda speachless. I would not touch this if it was free. Running a properly setup boat is already expensive. I cant think of setting out in any offshore trip equiped with that. those narrow hulls as living space ouch! But go ahead, living the dream on the edge of a precipice prolly make a fun youtube chanel to watch. there has to be a better deal out there.
Wat a junl
There is nothing wrong with this boat? That a gallon of gas and a match wouldn’t fix.
This is a shell of a boat missing far too many things. Don't touch it.
RUN!! Back to Melody!!
